My wife was a dentist in Peru. It seems that she would have to go back to school to become a dentist in the US.

But it seems as if she could take the certification test to become a dental hygentist. I talked to someone in Tallahasse about this and they said we need to send info on her schooling to be evaluated.

Has anyone else married someone who was in the dental field who is now working in the dental field in Florida or anywhere else?

Any info would be helpful

Hi

I (USC) am a FL dentist, and although my wife is not in the profession I do have a person working for me in my office who was a foreign trained dentist. He is a part time dental hygienist and I just asked him about this. He tells me he had to have his dental degree evaluated, take the national dental hygiene board exam, and then take the FL state licensing exam. He is trying to get into dental school now, but it is VERY competative.
