Im not trying to argue, but in Charles defence, if it is something that pertains to another part of VJ, as is AOS, it will more than likely be moved, as he sd, alot of ppl may be able to benefit from the thread. And not everyone comes to every reginal forum.

I'm going to try to keep my reply neutral, so as not to start the insanity back up again. But in my opinion, an organizer who cannot (and/or will not) tell the difference between a thread meant for a specific community and a thread meant for general consumption should not be an organizer anymore. Kotenochek is not a noob. Anyone who knows her and who knows this community knows that she meant her post to be read by this community. That's why she posted it here. But if you don't know this community, then you don't know that. Which is why I resent these drive-by organizers who quite possibly think they are doing good, but are in fact doing harm. It pisses me off to no end, and it pisses me off even more that when I or anyone else tries to explain this to management, we just get the moderator policy FAQ thrown up in our face as if that's supposed to resolve the issue.

And I don't buy the excuse that others could benefit from her thread in AOS. It was a "I got AOS" post. Nothing more. It would have been buried within the hour that the normal drive-by "congrats" stopped pouring in. And even if it had contained useful information, most people find useful information by using search, and would have found it here anyway. I've found more useful information in MENA and the PI forums than just about anywhere else, even though I never hang out there.

I agree 100% with william33. I don't want heavy-handed moderation, and I think Mags handled things perfectly. I want to see as little moderation as possible. Unless there is an overwhelming need for ANY kind of action needing to be taken, I just want sh*t left alone. But I also think somebody needs to rein in some of the organizers around here. My excuse for bad behavior is that I'm a lowly member--if I get out of line, suspend me. These organizers who run amok with no accountability need to be held to a wee bit higher standard, but I don't see that happening.

I see your point Mox As i hope you can see mine. As long as ive been on VJ we have always gotten along and i have always respected you. And the same back at ya, Sin. I do see your point, although we will agree to disagree on some of the finer points. I can assure you that had you been the organizer who moved Kotenochek's original post, things would have gone quite a bit differently, and I feel like my voice would have at least been heard. Different mods and organizers have different reputations. I have a pretty good idea who I can reason with, and who I just have to go ape-####### on. You are one of the good guys, and I really, really appreciate all that you do. My previous remarks are meant to be taken in general, not aimed at you. I think the moderator/organizer teams do a great job overall, but (to put it delicately) I also think there is some room for improvement and re-training for certain individuals. But again, for what my opinion is worth, you are one of the white hats.

By the way, I never learned who moved Kotenochek's original post back, so if you or anyone else knows who our anonymous hero is please thank them for us.

It's all good dude I just don't have the same emotional investment here that others do. So I tend to stir sh#t for laughs on occasion just like you do. Good reading generally!

You know, you and I tend to clash at weird angles from time-to-time, and I've never really understood it. But really, you're one of my favorite RU forum citizens, and I'm not just saying that because Sin has me all buttered up. So I agree, it's all good!

I don't see the clashing Mox (unless that is exactly what you mean ). We have different points of view sometimes, but nothing too explosive. I think that we, unlike some of our fellow VJers (from where I won't say to avoid getting them started flame spitting), do not tend to hold grudges, and will debate because it is interesting to do so. A time-out would probably do me some good. The funny thing is that I'm probably the mellowest person you will ever meet. My participation in this thread was almost completely tongue-in-cheek, but I guess that didn't come through very well. I don't want to start the insanity back up again, so I'll just leave it there.

For those RU members that were annoyed, my apologies. But I for one thought it was necessary to make it 100% clear to certain induhviduals that coming into this forum and moving our sh*t around would be met with Georgian-style "excessive force." It perhaps wasn't the most elegant or mature method, but it did work. I certainly didn't see anyone else jump in when Kotenochek's thread was moved.

Tara, it was a clear grey area topic. Those are to be left in the original forum in which they were posted - the guidelines are clear on this. General mod consensus is that it should have been left in the RU forum.

I'm going to draw a line under this now...*draws wobbly line* and suggest we all move on. To keep rehashing this just drags it on an don and on like a duracell battery.

Therefore I'm going to exert some modly powerz! and lock this thread.
