Sorry if someone has asked this before but I don't seem to find a thread with an answer to my question.

I entered the US at JFK and got an EAD stamp. Question 3 on the SSN application has checkboxes about citizenship. Should I check 'legal alien allowed to work' or 'legal alien NOT allowed to work'? From what I read here on the forums the EAD stamp on the visa is only valid for 3 months (though the expiry date on the stamp says 11-3-2009?), and since this is a temporary EAD I wondered what box to check.

If you have K-1 status and have been here less than 76 days, you check 'legal alien allowed to work' regardless of whether you have the stamp or not.
