Hi my name is Israel from Washington State. My wife and I got married on the Feb 14, 2008. I just recently sent in our papers for the I130 and we are still waiting for it. It's been almost two weeks since we filed now and we are still waiting. What is the normal timing for them to reply to me? Will they let me know that NOA1 by mail or by email? Once I get that email will there be a confirmation number that will help me to check on my status and my paper work? Also when we file for our CR 1 is there any advice anyone can give me about filing for this and any advice about me using my father as a co sponsor in this? I heard that it helps calling a Senator or a congressman and I am willing to do that. Someone please assist me in this questions. Like everyone else here I am just as determined to get my wife here in the US and I am just seeking so many answers. Thank you and God bless.

I got no passport at this time due to having a debt of about 2000 dollars of child support owed. Will this affect my petition since I am paying it monthly and faithfully? Is it still alright to still send in this paper works.

My first recommendation would be to wait for your NOA1. You really can't do anything else at this time. Once you get your NOA1 then you will have the option to send in an I-129F petition. Mail this with a copy of your NOA1 (I-130) to the correct service center. The I-129F petitions usually get processed faster and give you a better priority date. USCIA should connect your I-129F and I-130 petitions so when the I-129F priority date comes current then your I-130 petition will also be processed. This means that your I-130 petition will usually be processed much faster. If it is the CR-1 visa that you want then you do not need to do anything further with the I-129F petition. Second, contacting you senators and congressman will also be helpful but they can not usually help until after the 6 month mark of waiting at USCIS.

I can not really answer your questions about AOS but you have lots of time for that.
