helllo :)

my friend is filling out an AOS for her husband - she is self-employed and it takes some time for her to do her taxes. However she filled an extension for 2007 and got an email form her lawyer saying:

Please be advised that the USCIS will freeze processing of your application at some point and request your full 2007 tax returns (including W-2s) as well as a letter of employment from your employer (stating her name, job title, wage, and signed by the employer).

what she should do now? what if its gonna take couple months? they want to go and see her husband's family - looks like they will have to postpone everything right?

thank you

I believe the 2007 extension deadline was Aug 15, 2008.

Its already November, nearly a years time to file. I imagine that by now you must have the 2007 taxes or they will stop processing, as the USC will be deemed unable to support the immigrant.

If she's self employed, she wont have W2s, but instead a 1099. Instead of an employer letter, I guess she can write one for herself, as to what type of business she's running, how stable, etc to ensure the gov't that this is not a freelance type position.
