Steven,

Aren't you a member of the religious sect of extremists who believe in a space god?

Stay on topic, please....thank you.

Answer the question.

Nope. Back to topic now.

I'm curious, what fringe sect do you belong to?

I don't. Back to topic please....thank you.

I was "on topic" but you may have noticed the "topic" has changed.

What exactly is the "topic"?

Steven and his irrational belief in an imaginary deity.

About "fringe religious sects" and "monuments". If it's included in the topic by the original poster, I don't see how discussing the religious aspect in the "title" isn't "on topic".

This is a very interesting development regarding free speech and religious freedom.

It'll be even more interesting to see how the Supreme Court would decide on who can display what on public property.

I admire your tenacity, but it's 1:30 in the morning on a Monday. This is just not the time to ponder Constitutional issues.

However, I am open to a debate on your religious leanings. The more spurious, the better.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

It's barely 10:30pm here on the west coast...my mind is sharp for now until the codeine kicks in.

Summum's supporters are few and far between. The reason, of course, is Fred Phelps. A win for Summum would bar governments from discriminating in its choice of monuments in places like the National Mall, and essentially force federal and state authorities to either let everyone in or get rid of the monuments altogether.

Personally, I find this part the most interesting. Someone has been trying to defend the right of 'christians' to display christian doctrine in the form of the ten commandments to the exclusion of other religious displays. While clearly Phelps is yet another nut, well, in my view - his nuttiness is no more extreme than those who want to insist, as the mormons do, that marriage is exclusively a male/female couple perogative.

It's either a case of allowing all the nuttyness equal rights, or deny nuttyness any rights. You choose.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Thanks sisters Len and Fracas...we may need you two to employ Bush approved interrogation methods on the unwilling until we've got them reciting Leviticus and Karl Marx.
