My wife wants to do her medical exam now. We just filed I-129 today. Does anyone know if there is a time limitation? Does she have to wait for the consulate to issue the papers? She is a Nurse, so, she know's the doctors who give the exam. I'm sure they will know what exams to do. I just wonder if it is too soon.

YES, it is 2 early to do that. The exams does have a timeframe. Im not sure what it is at the moment, but it would be best for ur wife to wait until she receives her packets from the embassy. Im not sure but I believe its like 6 months, (b4 expiry)but don't quote me on it. Maybe some other VJ member can clue u in on the correct timeframe. Hopes this help.

hi,

the medical is valid for 6 months and i agree with the other guys....it is a little early to get the medical done already. Wait at least a couple months. I got mine done in may when my petition was pending 3 months already....so it is valid till october. Honestly I would wait for the NOA2 and then go to the medical.

08/15/06...INTERVIEW at 7:30am- APPROVED

08/21/06...VISA received

08/23/06...Flight to US

08/23/06...I am back home

09/20/06...received greencard in mail

09/27/06...received SSC in Mail

09/23/07...our daughter was born :)
