We have also been checking www.nwa.com lately, and for the last week of November Detroit - Nagoya Japan - Manila Philippines total price for round trip would be $1200 (including taxes)...

Check out the ones that leaves on Wednesday and it is always much cheaper.

Good luck and have a safe trip!

If there's one thing I really don't understand about NWA is that their rates are more expensive on weekends. Is there something equivalent to a happy hour in NWA? :hehe:

Happy Hour is mid of the week, ehehehe :P

yaayyyy and for December I don't think they have happy hour, maybe they will abolish happy hour come second week of December (don't know)...

December is the most expensive month for most all if all airlines and not only for NWA.

yaaayyy true, if I own an airline company, I will still give happy hour during December ngekkksss... hahaha! Seriously... :P

I used to work for USAirways/AmericaWest and I have seen how the fares goes up for domestic flights in the states during Thanksgiving and Christmas, yaayyyy! So the best advise for you to save on fares, do not travel on or before holidays!

Dang my keyboard. I always get grammatical errors and spelling mistakes due to a faulty keyboard.

The post should have read "December is the most expensive month for most airlines and not only for NWA." Anyway I'm assuming you understood my original post. :)

Or is it me who's faulty?

I found out about the Wednesday tickets when I flew to China the first time. Amazing what just one day can do for the price.

I was advised this by a doctor who's been back and forth from the Phil with his wife dozens of times over the years. He said that if at ALL possible, book your INTER-island leg/s with Air Philippines. THey are owned by PAL, and their craft and maintenance are more reassuring. Plus, you remain within the PAL terminal there at the airport. No need to walk or ride to other terminals, and less risk of loss of luggage. That said, AP does not go to the smaller cities as with CebuPac, and the others.

I am in Phoenix, and I booked tickets back in September for departure this January the 12th. I THOUGHT that was distant from holiday travel enough that I wouldn't get hurt too badly. I went to a Pinoy owned travel agency. The leg to Manila was $1340 round-trip. The part to Butuan City was $240. $1580 total.

Hello all...

I just thought I'd let you know...I got my ticket from a travel agent here in New Hampshire.

Going to visit my sweet Lyn in Cebu soon...

Here is the ticket info with Cathay Pacific...I love their service!

Boston-NewYork

change plane

New York -Hong Kong

change plane

Hong Kong - Cebu/Mactan

That's Boston to Cebu...with just two stops...There's a technical stop in Vancouver where they fuel up, but you don't have to leave the plane if you don't want to.

Return flight is two weeks later, same thing but backwards.

Total cost, including all taxes, etc...is $1795US

Two months ago it was $1500

Ok, I know this is subjective, but what would be considered a good price for a plane fair to the Philippines? I live in the Midwest area, Michigan to be exact. What Airlines services the Philippines the most?
About now 1200.00 around the holidays it about triples.. just look up on Yahoo Travel or northwest Airlines, Christmas it get close to 3000.00 but after it drops back down

I used air gorilla

http://www.airgorilla.com/Engine/Itinerary...esnID=288523736

back in mid July to get a ticket for late August, it was $1600. during the high fuel price months but should be cheaper. I flew out on Saturday, and returned on a Sunday should be cheaper midweek.

as for the destination airports, I think Cebu accepts international flights, but I have been told that there is a new international airport being built just west of CDO set to be finished in about 2 years that will handle international flights.

Good luck and have a wonderful time
