Hi,

My husband's interview is scheduled for next month and I am trying to assemble his documents. So far I have:

Copy of documents sent for N-400

USC original certified birth certificate

USC passport (just in case)

My husband's birth certificate w/english translation

Marriage certificate w/english translation

My husband's passport

Recent joint bank statements

Recent power bill (with both our names on it)

Recent cell phone bill (with both of names on it)

Tax transcripts for 3 yrs (showing us as filing joint)

Is there anything else I should include like pictures or something to that nature? Does my husband need to take additional passport pictures to his interview even though they weren't requested on the interview letter? What is the proper attire to wear for the interview? I called USCIS and I was told what you would wear for church on Sunday well I live in Alabama and you can wear suspenders to church as long as you come to church. Also I want to know where I can purchase one of those US flags as a gift for my husband for when he becomes a US citizen.

When you say those US flags, I am assuming that you mean what Thai Mom was taking about. This was on a site

"Anyone can purchase a U.S. Flag that has flown over the United States Capitol building in Washington D.C. This can be accomplished writing a letter to your Senator with your request. Their address can be obtained by calling your local Public Library and asking for it or use the Senators of the 109th Congress web site to locate contact information for your Senator.

You may request that your flag be flown on a certain date such as a birthday or anniversary. Be sure to mail in your request at least 4 weeks prior to the date you have selected. Your flag will be mailed to you and arrive 3-4 weeks after the date you have specified (Since September 11th, 2001 it may take longer to receive your flag). Enclosed with your flag will be a Certificate from The Architect Of The Capitol certifying that your flag was flown as requested. If you mention in your letter that this flag is for any specific occasion, that information will be included on the certificate.

In the past I had provided a link here to a Flag Ordering Form. I have discontinued the Form because prices can vary at different Senators web sites. Flag order information is typically found under "Constituent Services"

I would dress up in a shirt and dress pants. I don't want them to think this is not important to me. Best of luck Angel and to your hubby.

This may help you to prepare documenations.

http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=288288

Most of documentations from the list is for just in case.

So adjudicator - nice word for interview officer - may not ask for it at all.

But you better be over-prepared than hearing "Sorry, I can not make the decision because of this..."

It is better to have all the documents you mentioned above in the interview, but most IMPORTANTLY, do not forget to bring the GREENCARD.. I believe whatever you attached in the N400 application you should bring it just in case the officer may ask for it.

It varies to service center if they do the oath at the same day of the interview.. His N400 application should have a passport pictures when he filed it, so i pressume the officer will have that on file, but just bring some copies just in case they lost it.. You dont need to buy a US flag, they distribute the small flag for free in the oath ceremony.

Your husband can just wear business casual, a khaki pants or casual pants (not jeans) and a polo or long sleeves is fine.

Last but not the least, do not forget to tell him BE CONFIDENT and RELAX.

Gooodluck.

They didn't give small flag to new citizens at Milwaukee, WI Field Office.

For passport photo, sometimes interview officer may not like the photo, and ask for new one. ^^

So make sure that you have different set of photo just in case.
