Oath Ceremony

Hi everyone. I just wanted to know if anybody here in the forum had his/her citizenship interview in Los Angeles last October 22, 2008 and passed the test but have not gotten their letter for the oath ceremony. I was part of the october 22 batch and passed the test but was required to submit additional documents such as joint bank accounts and life/car insurance, etc.. I did mailed the documents the following day and was received by uscis the day after I mailed it as evidenced by a returned receipt. I was wondering if anybody had the same citizenship interview date as mine (or a later date) but has gotten already their letter for the oath ceremony? How long does it normally take to get the oath letter from the time the interview was conducted? Any input on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi

Not exactly the same day i am afraid, but I had my interview in Los Angeles on 28th October, and I am also still waiting for the Oath letter. The IO said officially 120 days but in fact a lot of people were getting the letters in about 30 days.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Jelly

Thanks Jelly. I guess I have to wait for a little bit more. Please give some updates if you have already received your letter for the oath ceremony.

Hi dcn08,

There is a bit good news if that helps. my wife had interview Oct 9th in New York. She had passed history test, but they told her that they will mail her decision with in 69-90 days. As all of you, she was very upset. Finally she received her OATH letter yesterday. oath date is Dec 9th.

Hi Jelly,

Congratulations!!!

We are still waiting, I heard from a friend who had her interview 4 days after my husbands and she got her letter today. I hope that means we will get good news soon.

Congratulations Jelly. I hope we will get ours soon. By the way, how do they send the oath ceremony letter? Is it by USPS or by other mail service carriers?

Roka22, me and your husband had an earlier interview date but we have not gotten ours. It is getting more interesting now.... :crying:

Hey dcn08,

Nope not yet ...He had sent in his n-400 in April. At that point we received a letter stating it would take 425 days for the entire process. After that everything went so fast. I was really hoping he would get it all done this year. If we get "the letter" before X-mas I will be SOOOOOOO happy. We are so under the 425 days I guess I can't complain. I know everything will work out soon for all of us!

Please keep me posted, I have you on my list of people to notify :)
