Change Interview date and time at embassy?

My fiance will probably not have the documents before her interview in Lima on Dec 01. She didn't have a validation signature on the birth certificate. The F-129 application does not expire until Jan 31 2009. So, if she goes to the interview she won't have the Birth Ceritificate and the other doc she needs to prove she has no criminal past.

So, has anyone had any experience with postponing the interview? I'm thinking it's as simple as sending them an e-mail, but I want to make sure.

Thanks,

Troy & Anita

It's NOT a good idea to reschedule an interview. Better to do the interview and see what they ask for.

Hi Troy and Anita,

I suggest Anita goes to Lima, there you can get her birth certificate validated just in hours (in RENIEC), the same day; and about the POlicial Certificates and the others 2 more (Judicial and Criminal)..you can get them just in 1 week in Lima..I know it is expensive to travel and stay 1 week, but in this way Anita could have the interview in Dec 1st...

God luck!!!!!

I would suggest her going to Lima early as well. She can get the documents that she needs there in a week, maybe she can stay with family or friends. If she needs a place to stay I am sure she could stay with Isa's relatives for a week, have Anita call Isa. If she goes to the interview without the needed forms then she can still have the interview and they can approve here contingent upon her getting the needed documents. Once she gets those documents in, they will issue the visa.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I agree and think the best advice is to go to the Dec 01 interview.

  • 2 weeks later...

Go to the interview with everything you have. You will more than likely be approved pending delivery of the missing documents. You will be required to mail the missing documents along with the passport and the passport with the visa will be returned via DHL.

Best of luck on Monday.
