Just out of interest, what exactly is your problem with homosexual marriage? The word 'marriage' or the idea that a same sex couple can have legal rights? Or, is it simply the act of homosexual sex that gets you worked over?

(Question to anyone who thinks 'traditional' marriage is between a man and a woman and that's the way it MUST STAY, come what may!)

Why are we talking about homosexual marriage in a rape thread anyway?

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

You mean people that want to marry their horses, dogs, cats, or even pigs? Ha, think some people already have married pigs, so should drop that one, LOL.

Then protest the curriculum, not the law.

Actually... that's what the school says to the parents, "It's the law" now so we will teach about it as we wish.

So you have it backwards.

Once you give them "the law" they have the Green light to teach it.

State teaching standards are not based on law. I should know after teaching and implementing curricular standards for a couple of years.

So it is you, once again, that can taste the logic of FAIL.

LOL, who are you kidding?

Do you think the average American will watch those films of children being trained to look at this topic from a "gay rights' point of view and not see it for what it is?

You sound like the States lawyer at the Rodney King case, telling us what we see in the video is

not really what we see. ... a man being beaten worse than an animal is not really what is going on here.

Dream on with that "logic"....it might work in some late-night .. wanna be intellectual ....collage dorm debate...

but it won't work with middle America, not yet anyway.

Well I'm obviously not kidding you.

Which means two negatives can't cancel out and you're still stuck on the negative side of the number line.

Coincidentally, are you calling 'middle Americans' ignorami? Get over it with your slippery slope already. Its pointless and pathetic. And does nothing more than augment the reason that homophobia has no reasonable place in a modern society.

Stop and think about what you wrote.

If Gay marriage doesn't sit right with me, I am "homophobic"?

And you say, Homophobia doesn't have a place in Modern society?

So when Gay Marriage is banned (by constitutional amendment no less) nearly every time the people get a chance to vote on it..... seems to me either your silly term "Homophobia" is meaningless or... it really "does" have a large place in this modern society.

And what is this fixation about "slippery slope" on every post, I never used that term.

The Slippery slope argument comes in when we talk about the next group wanting to be married.... on this thread we have not been there (and please, lets not go).

A slippery slope comes in when you argue that kids will be influenced to embrace homosexuality and using one silly video as proof that a law will base a daily curriculum emphasizing one thing that is nonexistent.

I honestly could care less whether or not you view yourself as homophobic or not. Unless you have some ulterior motive to not like gays, or tolerate them having equal rights as you do with your partner, then what else could be homophobic than supporting the imposition of law upon other that do not concern you?

Hence, your logic is an epic FAIL.

But coincidentally, being mathematically challenged and all... perhaps you should read the verbiage of Prop 8 and the voting percentages that come out every time voters turn down gay rights.

As homosexuality becomes even less of a taboo and more & more people have gay friends, siblings, offspring, etc, the push to 'save' traditional marriage will become little more than a nudge. This generation will see that a differing lifestyle is absolutely no threat to what you yourself want to practice. Let the next generation fight to marry their pet goats, if they so choose. This generation are just fighting for equality for same-sex partners. I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with that.

No kidding. Its something a modern mind really has a hard time comprehending. How one sexual preference can creep into another, challenge it, or even subvert it is beyond any rational mind.

Just say no to UFO marriage.

What I think is really most odd about the whole 'homosexual' marriage is taboo thing is that it would be more likely for the 'antis' to accept gay marriage if someone came along and persuaded them that 'god' has said it's ok to marry if you are homosexual than any reasonable and rational argument that anyone can bring to the table. That's really sad.

Well, I've read in the Bible that Abraham slept with all these women, some of them his son's wives because God told him to multiply and all. So THAT'S OK. Being in love with someone of your same sex... NOT SO MUCH. It sickens me how people use the Bible to justify this and that for their own good.
