What the fearmongering in the OP doesn't suggest is by FAR most rape victims know the person who raped them, and that person already has access to them without needing to break into the house. Yeah, arm yourself from that.

I probably would have taken a second shot just to make sure the ####### was dead. He died anyway so its no biggy. Bravo to the woman who took this monster down. Whether or not she had firearms training, it is a job well done. I hope through all her suffering at the hands of this beast, she feels justice is now served, and can try and rebuild her life.
