Hey, I like your logic. Maybe the counter-intuitive approach will work this week.

I decided today to FAX my I-797's and case summary to my congressman. His aide had asked me for the info a couple of weeks ago when I called, but I didn't follow through, once I heard from USCIS that my case had been sent to an officer. But now, with another two weeks having passed and nothing in the way of word, I figure hey, what can it hurt to get them looking into it?

I really hope something breaks this week. Gotta feeling the next week will be dead, this week may be our last chance to see something happen before December.

Good luck.

I believe that counter logic thing just might work lol. Yeah you probably want to send your congressman that info, next week will probably be dead so if they have it they can follow through with the whole giving them a kick in the butt start to get your case moving. Good luck to the both of you!

damn, i hope they dont approve mine, i enjoy buying a $1500 r/t plane ticket every 2 1/2 months, supporting 2 households, 22 hour flight one way and having my wife so far away i cant touch her.....and listening to her cooking awesome thai food on the phone when i call, and catching the drool in my little cup.....thinking of how good it tastes. Oh, how I will remember these days when at last they force me to accept the visa and have to bring her here to the states. I'll miss this little drool cup of mine, cause I know she'll take it from me...hmmm, i'll miss these good time of sleeping alone in the bed every night. I have it all to myself now, I'll have to share it.......hooooh hummmm. I guess all good things have to come to an end sometime....................

OMG - AMEN, brother. Of all of the posts I have read, and there have been a lot of good ones, this one you just penned takes the cake. All you have to do is substitute "15" for "22", and "russian" for "thai", and this could have been my post. I'll even add a couple of more. It is so awesome to be stopped every time I come back to the States by Customs officers because I have the same name as some fugitive they are looking for, even though I put in a request to Homeland Security/TSA back in May to fix the problem. TSA seems to operate at the same speed as USCIS.

Yeah, you're right. With all of these cool experiences, why would any of us EVER want a speedy approval? I mean, the video quality on Skype is top-notch, and having to dial an average of 8 or 9 times to make one clear telephone connection to Belarus keeps my fingers in first-class shape.

Can't wait to see what the latest joke of a processing times update is from USCIS. That one I'm guessing may be coming soon. I wish, instead of a date (March 04, 2008), or a time (6 months), They would just post "????"

VSC processing timelines:

"updated Nov 15th"

Service Center Processing Dates for Vermont Service Center as of: August 31, 2001

129f-----------------"K3/k4- already married"---------------------------"why are you bothering to look here you idiots? Go ahead, try to call....we will just make something up"

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

You know when VSC does approve my case I'll miss the quality time I spent with my apartment. Just me and the apartment. We're quite a couple. If my husband ever gets here I'll have to start sharing the couch and cooking for two. Having to buy TWO tickets to the movies, I'll bankrupt me!! I'll have to pen a letter to my phone company explaining that we no longer need to keep in touch via three page phone bills plus what will I do with the extra $100 I don't pay to Skype every month? Spend it on useless day trips with the love of my life?

Plus, I think my husband likes waiting for me in economically depressed, unstable Albania. I've heard him say several positive things about people in the street with guns.

A little bit of an update, thrown in with all of the hilarious posts outlining the reasons we love waiting for our approvals. My congressman's office acted pretty quickly, his aide called this morning (Monday) to VSC, she e-mailed me back at about 10:30 to let me know they hand contacted VSC, and the agents were going to find out the specifics of the case and call back to the congressional office. Obviously, I'll let ya know what they say. Remember, two different USCIS agents (one at VSC, one at national), told me about 12 days ago that my case had been assigned to agent on 11-1. Now we get to find out if that was true, or just a bunch of garbage.

By the way - another thing I will miss so much, once my wife gets here, are the monthly trips to the Western Union office to wire cash. Nothing I like better than being asked 20 questions on why I am sending large amounts of cash to a foreign country, by the exact same $8.00/hour clerk who asked me that question when I wired $ to my wife 30 days earlier. Yeah, I'll miss that.
