Lets see...

I'm getting ready to move to Egypt after graduation. I've already sold my bike, and my desktop computer. I still need to sell my Home Theater System, my computer desk, my vanity, and my canopy bed & mattress, and my kitchen table with chairs.

I'm really trying to get a jump start on lightening my load. I've already registered for my last semester and there are 3 weeks of classes left in this one and then finals. May has the higher graduation rate so with the mass exodus I hope to get a jump start on it now. I don't plan on coming back to Moscow after graduation.

I'm thinking to take two suitcases. I don't know how long I will be living in Egypt because it depends on when Waleed gets the visa and we can come back together.

I'm trying to get him to take the first two parts of his USMLE, which they offer over in Egypt, before he comes so he has his Medical Equivalent and can at least start as a physician assistant here someplace.

His Sister's scholarship was approved for her PhD study in Cardiology at John Hopkin's in Baltimore, Maryland and she was given a lecturing position at the Medical University there. So her and her family are planning to come back sometime next year and live in the US during the duration of her study. She had already passed the first two parts of the USMLE and is looking to pass the last two parts once she reaches the US and may take the exams. The last two are only offered here.

I told Waleed his Sister can help him study for it and she may be a bridge for him in obtaining work here so we may be moving back East near where his Sister and Husband are. We shall see.

Only 24 weeks to go! He's counting down the days even. He gets out of the military two weeks before my graduation. He's passed the 170 day mark I think. LOLZ!

It's really scary to think about seeing each other again after 2.5 years apart!

Good morning MENA!

Olivia, I still don't know how you do it having to go so long without your husband. Then again, I never expected to be away from mine for this long. I guess we just have to learn to be patient :( Sounds like you are getting ready for the move and graduation. I wish you the best of luck!

Married: May 28th, 2007

Arrived in the US: December 10th, 2008

To tell you the truth we set a goal to be together again no matter what. We didn't look at it as years apart when we started. It would go in increments. It was a semester apart, then a summer apart, then another semester apart, then winter break apart, and repeat for another year. LOLZ! We never took it as the whole time because sometimes I was coming but then developments happened. The military had a lot to do with it. *wink* I hate them!

But enough about that! FINALLY after several years we've about reached our goal and we will be together again at last with nothing to separate us! But the real married life and co-habitation will begin! Ack! Neither of us having ever been married before or living with a member of the opposite sex before other than family members. It's going to be a whole new experience for us! For the first time we have to share beds! Share tooth paste? Share meals, and the everydays of intimate life!

It's exciting and scary at the same time, really.

Oh Olivia, I toally know how you feel. I was away from my hubby for almost 3 years, all the while raising our daughter alone. It was like starting over with a new person when we finally moved here to KSA and were together again.

Best of luck to you, and to all the other ladies spending time away from their loved ones.

It is true..absence makes the heart grow fonder...and you never know what you are capable of handling until you are shown.

Happy Sunday everybody!!!

Olivia....glad to hear that you only have so long now before you reunite!! I hope the move to Egypt goes well. I can't imagine selling everything to move and having to start all over again once you come back. This too I may have to face in years to come. Best wishes with everything!!

My husband worked 12 long hours yesterday at Kohl's Distribution. This place is huge. I am not joking when I tell you that the building extends for 1/2 mile or so. He said what they do is scan boxes and orders and basically go shopping for them. He said that they are expected to fill about 50 in an hour or so. They walk all day long as fast as they can scanning the orders and locating them and boxing them to be shipped. He was tired when he got home but after today he is off for 4 days. He jokingly said that he can't believe that the Department of Human Labor Laws allows people to work like that!!! LOL, long way away from the self employed attorney that went to court early in the morning and napped all afternoon! Just joking!!! Tomorrow is driving lessons for him and another shot at the driving exam next Saturday. I pray that man passes!!!!

Everybody have a great day!

0livia, I'm wishing you and your husband all the best life has to offer....and really, I miss you !

Sheherazade, I love your new name!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
