Hi all, I am wondering where in the US do I apply for a tourist visa to the Philippines. Do I need one for there as a USC? Been to China so I already have my passport.

You do not require a visa for a stay under 21 days.

Yah,

if you need to stay longer than 21 days just go to BI office where ever you are and take 2 passport photos from any photo store there and you will fill out a couple of forms and pay 2300 peso +/- and they will extend your stay for another 38 days. visit the BI office prior to your 21 days though.I do this each time I go there. Good luck/ have fun

Do not judge a man by his mistakes, judge him by what he learns from those mistakes.

Each country has there own rules.

There are some countries you are not allowed to enter, nor would you want to go if you are US Citizen.

I tell people to just roll the bones and don't mess with a visa extension.

If you overstay they will usually overlook it at the airport when you leave.

Ah you say that they usually overlook it at the airport, but what if they don't? Also what effect will this have on you getting back into the Philippines in the future? Doesn't seem like it would be worth the risk to mark your records as a baaaad person.

DO NOT overstay your visa. The immigration officers at the airport will use any excuse they can to extort money out of you. I have experienced this and have heard of others experiencing it too. I was held in one of the offices for several hours as they tried to extort money from me. In order to enter the country your passport must not expire for at least 6 months. My passport expired within 5 months of me LEAVING (not entering) and they were asking for 30,000 pesos to "overlook" this.

I live in the philippines and while i love the country there are a few bad things that go along with the good. Corruption is one of those things. I simply waited out the immigration folks and refused to pay. they finally escorted me to my plane as they were announcing the final boarding calls.

Had i been desperate to depart on that day or not known how things work here I probably would have paid.

Giving immigration a legitimate reason to hold you is a very bad idea.

I grew up in Redford and then moved this way after 89' when I married the first time, now divorced. Started in South Lyon and then made it out to Howell where I live now.
