cheaper air fair?

I have been looking at the air fair to HCMC and it is over $800 more then it was last year at this time. I was hoping someone has any suggestions or web sites that may be better then Kayak.com? Any thoughts other then get a second job?

The cheapest airline tickets that I found was at a local Asian travel agency. They were cheaper than any of the sights I found online and they also handled my visa.

Christmas and TET (Lunar New Year) are coming up, Vietnam's Peak part of the year due to so many Vietnamese from everywhere coming home and visiting friends and family. You might be better off waiting until TET is over, I think it's sometime in end February.

I would agree with Nai Nguyen that it would be much cheaper to wait until after Tet, if you can. I believe that Tet is in mid February and lasts about a week.

This year Tet is on, Jan-26-2009. Will be on Monday. I am living in Southern California (Orange County). Cheaper place for buying Ticket here, their always including Visa for you. After Tet in between Jan-26 > Jan-30, Feb-02 > Feb-06. Will be more cheaper. These time will be more people flying home (US), not many people flying in to HCMC. Good Luck.

No, it's American and Asiana. Korea is the layover (14 hours). One catch I found after the fact is that American is going to make me pay $80.00 for 2 suitcases. That's still $50.00 less than I paid in February and $400 or so less than the next best deal I was able to find recently.

It depends on the carrier, where you resided and peak or off peak season, China and Eva tend to cheaper. California residents used to pay $300 less than I did. Pick April or August for your trip. I live in Dallas and the ticket for new year is around $1800.
