[That's what I am saying, they made huge strategic mistakes. Hustling from quarter to quarter w/o keeping an eye on the future will inevitably lead to failure. They had it coming and did nothing about it. The best help these companies can get is to oust the incompetent managers that have brought them to this very point. But that, of course, is not what is discussed.

I think some fresh faces are needed at the Big 3 and there may be a few execs who are worth keeping. Major restructuing is needed to survive. GM and Ford will become smaller and leaner, but much more efficient. I think this is a good thing. Much better than the altenative.

Absolutely. Thing is that, in my opinion, they need to present a sound business plan to get from here to there and cut some of the dead weight at the top before the taxpayer lends a hand. I am all for ensuring the US automakers survive but I am not for throwing money down a bottomless barrel.

The taxpayer has no business being asked to lend a hand. They are a business and need to be able to survive on their own. I disagreed with the banking bailout, and what a farce that is turning out to be, and I don't agree with bailing the automotive industry out. The US cannot afford to do so.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself
