hello vj people.

our k1 petition got approved.

please help me get ready for the interview and the medical exam.

whats the next step after the NOA2?

what papers do i need to prepare for the interview at the embassy?

any ideas for the medical exam?

any help will be greatly appreciated. tips, precautions, etc.

08-12-08 - fiance started calling uscis every week cos he never got the RFE in the mail, requested for a new one

08-13-08 - touched

Congratulations... You will receive a packet or you can call St. Lukes and tell them that you want to pick-up that "packet". It contain all the information and instruction you need.

February 2006 - File Petition, Approved

May 2006 - Medical, Interview, VISA on hand

September 2006 - Set foot prints in the chilly icy JFK, NYC

December 2006 - Civil Wedding

March 2007 - File AOS

June 29, 2007 - Temporary Green Card

I-751

May 30, 2009 - Priority Mail with Confirmation Receipt I-751 Packet

June 1, 2009 - Packed Received by USCIS around 4PM (per USPS Confirmation Delivery Receipt) - now, what's next?

June 2, 2009 - I-797C Receipt Date (Time 21:07....are they operating 24 hours???)

June 3, 2009 - Cashed Check/Bank Cleared

June 4, 2009 - USCIS Postage Date

June 5, 2009 - Local Post Office Receipt date (so, its been sitting on our mail box in house #2 for 5 days...)

June 11, 2009 - Got it! 1 year extension notice......

June 18, 2009 - Received Biometrics schedule

July 10, 2009 - Biometrics Day (cancelled/re-sched)

July 23, 2009 - Biometrics day

November 2, 2009 - Approved

November 5, 2009 - Received via Mail "Approval Notice"

Waiting for actual GC

After NOA2

- wait for the letter from NVC. You should receive it within two weeks. NVC letter contains your case number. Case number should start with MNL2008..... . After two weeks, if you do not receive your NVC letter, call NVC. NVC would also forward your paper to USEM. Wait for mail from USEM. You should have it within two weeks after receiving NVC letter.

For interview

- follow AJAnTESS link. You need to complete all required documents

- or use this link. This is the one included in NVC letter i received: Other info at www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_4323.html

For medical

- a scanned copy of NVC letter is acceptable.

- Bring 3 pcs of 2X2 pictures ( Day 1 requires 1 picture, Day 2 requires 2 pictures based on other VJ experience)

- passport,

- black ballpoint pen,

- payment.

- Be healthy.

- Dont go their if you have your period (it should be before or after your period)

- Bring food and reading materials to help you while waiting.

For actual interview (based on my Business (B1) visa expereince):

- attire, similar when you are applying for job, decent clothes

- ensure that you know the data on all your documents

- and sweet smile
