From my understanding they go by when they received petition. The speed depends on how fast or slow the service center can process the petitions. From the looks of everything CSC is processing pretty quickly compared to the VSC. Good luck to you!

It depends on the type of case, VSC is so far behind they're transferring some of their IR-1/CR-1 cases to CSC. I have seen a lot of K-1 petitions get processed a lot more quicker than the other petitions for those who are already married. You might want to call and check up on it if you haven't yet because from the my personal experience, I had to call for about 75 -90 % of my information/updates (still pending, receipt numbers, still pending, whether or not petitions were expedited, still pending, a bunch of well I don't have access to that info or I don't know, still pending, answering a bunch or useless questions they ask over and over and over again, and oh did I mention still pending) rather than getting the proper documents through mail, emails, and the USCIS website as they say we're suppose to get. I wish you and your fiance(e) the best of luck on your case.

What is your timeline?

I never really post it on here for some reason, guess just lazy lol.

24 Jun 08: I-130 received at VSC for my wife and one for my step-daughter

15 Jul 08: called the USCIS Military Line and got the receipt numbers, never received a hard copy NOA1

8 Oct 08: K3/K4 was received

Other than that nothing else, I've tried expediting petitions but haven't gotten anywhere with it. I had to call to find out the status and they swear they sent me an email asking for supporting documents for my step-daughters visa and found out the CSR entered my wife's reason for expedite incorrectly so they denied her expedite. I mailed them a package stating that's their fault the information was entered correctly so they need to correct it (not in those words). I later received 2 letters, one requesting supporting documentation for my step-daughters visa expedite and same thing for the K3/K4 expedite, I submitted the supporting documentation. Every time I call to at least see if they received the faxed and mailed supporting documents they don't have access to that info. I've contacted a bunch of senators prior to that but haven't heard anything from them yet.

With the whole transferring people to CSC we have moved up and are now closer to them starting on our petitions so I'm trying to be as patient as possible. The whole reason for the expedited request was due to my wife and step-daughter living near the area (about 20 min drive) of the Preah Vihear Temple where the border clashes took the lives of Thai and Cambodian soldiers and wounded others.

Yeah that was superduper fast lol. I filed before you and I have yet to get approved by USCIS and you already have your interview. Something told me to file before I moved from Cali. Like I said, CSC is smoking through those petitions (Not the other smoking either lol)! Congrats to you guys though. Since you went through so quickly, you got to spread the gossip what you did so we slower people can possibly get faster and get through the process at ease lol.

You know all that I did(which i am sure everyone else is doing) is be VERY detail oriented. Read the instruction several times and I sent them all they asked for and them some. Even sent 150 photos to USCIS.

My wife did the same with her portion of the proces. Perhaps its related to my wife's career field, which is more likely.

I am a veteran and I even sent a copy of my DD214...don't think that was a facotr, but just maybe the application went across the desk of a veteran.
