Have your husband prepare the timeline for you if the one you have is not acceptable. But he cannot have his mother be the witness for the documents. That does not help.

Having family in the US does not hurt. But you do need to show that you are using a K-1 or K-3 to marry your husband, not just to come to the US.

You should submit the information as soon as you can. But be sure it is complete and correct.

you know... this is absolutely insane! We got a blue slip and I'm still working on all of my paperwork with a lawyer. But I have talked to a few people now that have been married or engaged from people of other countries. One guy that got engaged to a woman from Russia.... no problem at all. Anther from the Philippines... right through... and another person I talked to at church just got his fiance here from China... right though.

Why is Vietnam so different. Don't tell me fraud cause Russia also has a huge fraud rate. I doubt that contacting my congressman will do anything here in New Jersey (one of the most corrupt states in the union). I'm really sick of this B.S. I'm sure that the people that are ruining it for the honest ones get right through. This really is just assured. I see it often, people have the documents that they want.. but they don't want to see them and hand a blue slip. How Perfect do these frickin documents have to be.

sorry.... had to vent... its been a while

As I'm preparing for my fiancee' interview at HCM consulate, I saw your comment in VJ comment's block. My fiancee encountered the same problem as yours. But, we submitted the necessary requested information to the CO and we got the pink slip. All you need to do is to tell your husband/fiance to notarize a thorough timeline, including how'd you guys meet, how long was each stay, who introducted you guys and how'd you propose? Be specific on the details, especially the important dates and times. For relatives in the US part, just gather utitily bills such as water, electricity, phone, and tax returns if possible; you can submit photocopy of these documents but the timeline must be original and notarized before submitting to the CO for review. The CO will review through the requested information that written on the Blue Slip and make a decision of the case and will most likely give you a pink slip!!
