I sent an email to Cairo 5 days ago, and still no answer.

I am wondering if you can share your experience with me...

Does anyone know what days they are open, and what their hours are?

What did you put in your subject lines when you sent emails to check status?

How did you word your questions?

I am trying to get an idea of what works and what doesn't when trying to get an answer from Cairo, and I want to know what days they are closed so I am not checking my eamil 400 times on those days

Thanks guys...

We typically got responses in 3 to 4 business days. I do remember one time waiting a week.

I always put the case number in the title and in the body of the email with my and my hubbys full name and contact mobile and email information. I would number my questions and always thank them for understanding my urgency in the matter.

That was about it. We would get answers quickly but always at the end of the email the same wording. So that part was a form letter I'm sure.

Hope that helps! Good luck girl and email them again. Don't give up. I'd email from my email and then my hubbys days later.

Linda....at times it would take a week for a response. I always put our case number in the email subject line and asked very direct short questions. If you kept it to the point they normally answered but if you asked too many it was like they had a limitation of the questions they would answer. I also will tell you that I got better luck calling immigration here and finding out about his visa issuance than the embassy. I had emailed the embassy about a week before my husband got his visa and asked when they will be shipping it and they responded 5 days after he got that it is in final review. They aren't always honest!

Most of the time they answer back. Keep trying. Don't be supprised if you get a canned answer, though.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Thanks guys, I will try again.

I did include the case number in the body of my email, so I will move it t the subject line and see what I get.

Aymsgirl: Can you tell me who you called and where to find the number? I would love to be able to actually talk to a person.

My husband called the embassy, but they basically told him no one will answer his questions and don't bother calling back

Thanks again for your answers

Ok, so I just got one of those "canned" answers...

"The case is pending the officer's final review. We will process the case to conclusion once that is completed".

What the he!! does that mean

Since they used the word "Review" I think that means you're actually in AR, Administrative Review instead of Processing. It's really the same thing though. You still have to call DOS to check on the status of your application when you want to talk to someone about it.

That means you're in AP. You call DOS from now on.

I will ask your firgiveness if this seems rude, and thank you for taking the time to respond, but I have to disagree with your answer....

My husband comes here to read these posts from time to time, and your answer will scare him to death...so I will say this:

I have found several people that have actually been through this process that received the same responses and had their visas in a short time after. I even saw where someone got this answer and had the visa the same week.

Is there anyone else that has actually had their interview, and emailed back and forth with Cairo that can share their experience with me?

Thanks again Olivia, I do appreciate your time

Just ask Bridget and Tamara who they had to call after their interviews. Even I have to call DOS as we're in the same thing and the embassy gave my Husband the same response as yours got and even I got the same canned response you got in your email. I don't know why your Husband would be scared to death of terminology?

As Olivia said AR and AP are the same. Wael received his visa 6 months after his visa interview.

It is rare for one to receive their visa in a couple weeks altho it does happen. The CO told Wael

after his interview that he would be receiving his visa in 3 wks!! Yeahhh right....I think this is

kinda standard procedure for Cairo, but in truth the wait is much longer.

Don't know why your husband would be afraid. It's just a waiting game and unfortunately we all

have to go thru it

Wael and I both emailed the embassy and yes we both received the same response. I called DOS

and had the same response. So I don't know what you want me to say to your question. Anyone

who has gone thru Cairo will give you the same response. You will just have to wait until Cairo

decides to issue his visa.

Best of luck! Just have patience!

Don't worry about sister... Keep praying and keep sending emails. Everyone's process is different. I know you are trying to gage it but you the responses. Ahmed got his visa in 2 1/2 weeks. Tell Usama to call Ahmed and they will talk. You know I am here for you.

LOVE IS UNIVERSAL!
