Both of our petitions were approved on november 10th.Can you please tell me how to check if I-129f is received by NVC?My husband called NVC number and chose option one for immigrant visas but when he typed I129f application number they said that they haven't received our case yet.However I-130 was received and case number was assigned.I know that everyone would advise me to go for I-130 but we really want to follow K3 so please tell me how to check if I129f has reached NVC.Thanks

When you call NVC, press 0 and talk to an operator. More than likely, your K-3 petition is already on the way to the embassy. NVC just takes it and forwards it there, they don't really do anything with it.

Thanks!!!My husband asked for expedite on I-129F and they sent us a letter saying that expedite request has been denied because I-129F was approved earlier in the morning.Then we called NVC and learned that both petitions were there.But we haven't received NOA2 hard copies nor emails.I think their system is still down.

Jeca, that's terrific. I remember you filing around the same time I did at VSC and posting in the January filers thread. I've been following your case off and on since our timelines are similar, and am happy to see that you finally got approved.

I know you're committed to going with the K-3 rather than the CR-1--that's cool and in fact I originally felt the same way. From afar the NVC process for the CR-1 seemed very complicated and intimidating. However, I was forced into the CR-1 route due to VSC administratively closing my I-129F, and I have to say that the process has been so much easier than I thought it would be. Assuming I don't get an RFE, it looks like I'll be through NVC in about 30 days. And because NVC schedules CR-1 interviews ahead of when the consulate schedules K-3 interviews, I'm not convinced you lose any time at all going the CR-1 route.

Anyway, it's just something to consider. Good luck in whatever you decide!

I agree with this 100%. I did the same thing. You can look at processing times at the consulate here. CR-1 is only 28 days. So the time you lose at NVC, you gain it back on the consulate side.

Thank you all, the reason why we want to follow K3 route is because CR1 route seems so complicated to us and we don't understand it completely, we don't want to go through all that trouble, we want this over as soon as possible. We don't care about the cost of AOS and all that. I'm so happy that this waiting is finally over, I'm guessing 2 more months for the interview which is ok because i'm going to stay here for new year's anyway.Thank u all I feel so relieved and so excited!

Congrats Jeca :dance::dance::dance:

Seeing from your timeline you have been waiting a long time.

I just get back from a road time to find approvals in the mail for both the I129F and the I130 approved Nov 4th. :dance::dance::dance:

We are also planning to go the K3 visa road since we believe that this will be quicker in order to have my wife sooner.

Does anyone have any experience with which aproval we should proceed with? In China I have heard that the K3 interview scheduling is quickier the the IR1/CR1. I am a little confused on which way to proceed. :bonk:

Thanks,

Wolfie and Lambie

Congratulations on your approval!!

Both of our petitions were approved and we chose the CR1 route. You will need the same documents (aside from the Choice of Agent) for the K3 interview anyhow. Best of Luck to you!!
