So why are they worried about giving the "wrong impression"? Sounds like it's not a wrong impression after all.

No Aboriginals live in those areas. So why would they throw them in for the sake of it.

Because if you can have storylines about gangsters kidnapping your family for ransom, or characters who disappear and resurface years later with amnesia (these things probably don't happen in the burbs much either) having a more diverse cast of characters is mild in comparison.

Mine too. I still haven't figured out where the speakers are hidden so I can turn off that god-awful sentimental soundtrack ;)

Yeah I almost got hit on the head the other day by a spotlight that curiously fell out of a clear sky...

I could be wrong - but I don't recall any black characters in Neighbours. Period.

Even the criminals were white.

I don't recall any black characters in Friends, either - and New York is slightly more diverse than Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, Australia.

There was the Asian lady Ross almost married....until he called her by Rachel's name at their wedding...

in season 7 there was an episode where Ross and Joey were both dating the same black woman (Gabrielle Union) and then I think in season 8 or 9 Ross dated a black woman (Aisha Tyler) for awhlie... but other then that I don't think there were any other black people on the show...

oh and on Seinfeld I remember the one black guy, I think he played a lawyer or something... he was in a few episodes

I will have to ask the producers to check the lighting folks. Make sure they're not abusing union privilege you know.

Also, the episode where George had to have a 'black' friend for some reason or another...very bizarre.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

The lawyer was based on Johnny Cochrane.

They also had the runner from Africa who was in two episodes.
