Question on Employment Letter

hi all, I got packet 3 sent to my fiance's email address today

He is considering to get a new employment letter as the one that he has now doesn't mention that he is a permanent employee, though it states in the letter that he has been working in the navy (civilian) since 1987 and mentions about his salary too.

Problem is, if we wait until the new employment letter to complete, it will only arrive to me around 2.5 more weeks (takes time to get the new letter).

My question is, should it be okay to just use the employment letter that doesn't mention whether he is a permanent employee or do you guys think that we should wait for a new letter that mention about the status of his employment??...

Thanks for any advice u post ;-)

p.s.: we never got any letter from NVC that they have received our petition from USCIS. So, from NOA2 hardcopy, then jump to packet 3 in my fiance's inbox.

It really doesn't matter if he's permanent or a contractor as long as he can prove that he currently makes enough to support you when you get here. When we were going through my husband's process I was a contractor at a company, working there for only a few months. The letter I got never mentioned my status, only that I had been working for them since x date make x amount of dollars. That's all.

Showing the length of the time he is been working will be fine, besides, they only want to see the income really to see whether he can support you or not.

In Jakarta, they wanted my previous year's tax returns with original W2, a letter from my employer stating that I have been working for company X since date Y on annual salary Z, a letter from my bank stating that "as of this date, total deposits for the previous year were XYZ", and (3) months of current pay stubs (the last paystub was dated the week before the interview). Hope that helps.
