Fellow VJer,

My wife recieved PCC from ahmedabad, India district police office yesterday but unfortunatley they gave her only one copy. I need to know if NVC will accept photocopy for cr1 process and we can keep original for k3 process? Has anyone done this before? Also, what are the things included in PCC, the pcc my wife got has her picture, address and etc. Is this what suppose to be in it?? Please share your experience.

Thank you in advance for your response!!!

I called NVC few weeks ago to inquire about this. One rep at NVC mentioned that they can accept photocopies of both PCCs (district office and passport office). I do not have my approval yet but had my wife get the PCC from district office (what a pain that was!). They only gave her 1 copy. She did 3 photocopy and asked someone in commissioner's office to put a stamp on it - like certify. We are planning to send this certified copy to NVC.

Have your wife go to commissioner's office with photocopies and ask them to put certify it (put stamp on it). If they say no, tell them that you know someone who has just done this. If that doesn't work, offer bribe.

siyaram,

Yes, indeed it was pain in a$$ to get one piece of paper from dumb district police office. I will definitly tell my wife to do what you said. Did you get the one from passport office yet? My wife next mission is to get the one from passport office hopefully they wont give pain in a$$ like district office did. I also told my to offer them bribe no matter what and tell them to give you one. Let see how that goes.

Thanks!

You say you need (1) copy for CR1 and (1) copy for K3? You can't get a CR1 visa and a K3 visa.

himher,

I know I cant get both visa, but if you want to simultaneously work on both visa paper then you will need to two pcc copy. dont you??

I do not have a PCC from passport office yet. They are more strict. We will try getting it using NOA1 and the packet 3 documents list proof. But if that doesn't work, we will just have to wait for NOA2. From what I have heard, the PCC from passport office does not take that long - usually 5 business days.
