Initially when you were told about background check, did they tell you about 3 months? Also from your experience is there any chance to speed it up?

well what i have to say prolly wont help u much im k1 and we have been told so many times we are in back ground check then finally in aug when i tried to have it expedited they told me we have for the FIRST time been put in back ground check and that we should be adjudicated no later than feb..........

Yes, Azer, every three months, we were asked to wait for another three months. Congressmen, Senators, infopass officers, everyone said there's nothing they could do. And that's exactly what they did: NOTHING. They wrote letters on our behalf and were told all you can do is wait.

Look at our timeline, we were stuck for over TWO DAMN YEARS with the USCIS.

hopefully you won't be stuck THAT long...

This is exactly what I'm worried about...that they will do this to my husband, because he's Muslim. I'm trying to stay positive because it's only been 7 months, but in the back of my mind I'm really scared they're gonna throw the application in the black hole of security.

You're from San Antonio like me...wait until you have to go to the local office...they are outright Muslim haters there...the adjudications officer that took my ex husband's case outright asked me "aren't your parents mad that you married one of them?" Then I told her, "Why should they be? We're all Muslim, my family and I." Then she denied our case and put my ex-husband in deportation proceedings.

I tell you, I'm not looking forward to it one bit!!!

Well after reading all these replies it's very hard to stay positive. And I guess I just have to get ready for a long wait. Although I already waited for more than 9 months.

No one can give anybody an exact timeline coz every case is different. I'm from a country which is meant to be an ally & what good does that do?? diddly squat!!

We're all in the same boat. You probably have a case worker who prefers to play on the internet all day than approve case files!! LOL

If you're from the Phillipines or Thailand then applications tend to go through much quicker!

We were ten months at USCIS stage - no RFEs. We were just stuck at Vermont for most of that time with no touches at all.

Then they transferred us to CSC and we were done within two weeks.

There are specific background checks all petitions must go through. Not sure if there was something extra added to yours, but it is standard for USCIS to do certain checks.

i my case they specified that all petitions must go through. and i may get responce within 6 month otherwise we can call uscis.

my i-129 f , k3 was denied and sent back to uscis for review and i-130 was approved in mar 2008 and it was lost bu uscis. but when i did checked for 130 they combine both cases and they said they doing background check. any one know about this

Well my husband called uscis and we found our (i-130) case is in back ground check. They told us the same thing it will take 90 to 180 days at back ground check for I-130. Its almost more then 2 months no approval or no RFE. Now since so many days we r trying to call and they give us the same answer that they can not inform us anything about whats going on with our case? They touched our case 5 times since we filed.
