Happy Friday!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Tasha - Does your husband miss being a lawyer, does he think he may one day practice in America? So happy he found a day, it is hard now these days getting any kind of job, my daughter just graduated with her BA in history and is working at Kohls, lol, she starts grad school this January. There are a lot of folks holding degrees working there right now. He might meet some good networking folks that can get him something more in his field.

Turia- How is your mother, I am always thinking of her, I hope she is doing well.

My husband drives, but I am better, now he will tell you I drive too fast, very true, but, I have driven military vehicles, it is a long standing joke in my home, one time I was driving in Louisiana with my mother, and there was this southern summer storm, and in Louisiana it does tend to flood in certain areas, so as I am driving, my mother is freaking out, I turn to her and say in a serious voice, I know what I am doing I have driven army trucks. My mother never lets me live that down, cause that has nothing to do with driving safely. To be honest I drove those army trucks with seeing between the steering wheel, I am very small and they make those trucks for normal size people, not anyone under 5".

How sweet GG. My mom is doing better, she went to see her regular doctor and they decided together that they would watch this with MRI after the holidays. She is taking meds to quit smoking (allahumdulilah) after over 50 years. Now my dad has to go in for surgery for a second time on his rotator cuff! It never ends! Thank you for asking about her.

He misses it dearly! I pray that one day he will be able to find something in his field. It's so much to go to law school and you have to have almost perfect English. He suffers at times with comprehending long articles in English so we wonder how well he would do. I am encouraging him to do something with computers and maybe take a few classes together. He is awesome and has a gift for it. He will keep his bar association license up to date in Egypt because we plan possibly moving there in the future so we need to keep that as an option.

It took my husband nearly 3 years to find a job in his field, and he only was able to get that because he was in the "english section" accounting program in egypt, where they learned american accounting from american books, and had quite a few professors from america.

If your husband is interested in law, look for an ABA approved paralegal program in your area. there are a lot of programs out there, but the ABA (american bar association) certified ones are the best that lead to the good jobs. You're required to do an internship with them, which leads to a lot of good contacts and often times a job. Many of my classmates found jobs through their internships.

If his egyptian degree can be evaluated as equal/equivilent to a US degree, the certification is only 30-35 credits. Many of the ABA approved programs also do a lot with online classes, so you can do a lot of the work from home.

It's a good way to learn the basics of american law, try your hand doing basic legal research and writing, and get experience in a law office that is invaluable for future lawyers.

hubby passed his permit test so now he has a wonderful driving permit!:dance:

also, apparently my license had expired on my birthday  so now I have a new license with my new name! The woman wanted me to take off my hijab and I gently suggested that by law she cannot force me to do that. She then looked at me, sighed and said why is that, and I just looked at her and then she said "oooooooooooooooh do you wear it for religious reasons???". no lady, i wear it because it's fashionable.
