SSN question

While my husband was attending university in Texas he got a SSN card that had written on it. not valid for work.

Will this remain his number after recieveing his EAD? Meaning he won't need to apply for a number?

It is my understanding that once you are issued a SSN, it is your number for life. No need to apply for another one.

Thank You thats what I thought as well but was unsure..So I guess they would just remove that condition

once he is issued an EAD..

Talking from my experience, my first SSN card had a mention "valid for work with INS authorization" until I became a permanent resident. Once I obtained permanent residency, I kept the same SSN but was issued a new card : without this mention underneath the number.
