Thank you all, and you know I am obviously praying for all of you. Challanges don't end at visa in hand, life is indeed a long journey, but honestly I was beginning to think something was wrong with our case because it was taking so long but it was just a part of the challange.

Here are details that may come to use to all of you guys, as you are all reaching the visa issuance time:

Aug 24 - We were told that AP was completed. No word from the embassy after that.

October - Was a very distressful month, we had thought something had gone wrong or more checks or what not. I wrote to my senators (Durbin and then Senator Obama) and got a reply that AP was still in progress. This brought me down tremendously.

End of October - Called DOS - Chris said there are still some things that need to be done. I was heartbroken to think there could be MORE after 13 months.

Oct 27: My husband and I were talking about the fact that no visa can be issued without medical, so why aren't they asking for it???

Oct 28: I get an e-mail from the embassy:

"Dear Ms. X,

Please tell your husband to submit the medical any working day between x and x and we will deliver the visa the same day at 2:30pm."

I was ecstatic and called my husband, saying that he needs to do it quick. It was Wed in Bangladesh, or equivilent to Thursday here, so since we ha 2 working days left, I suggested he do the medical that same day and submit it the next day and since they said visa the same da, I thought we could know about the visa and relax in the weekend.

So he did it all, and I don't know how he managed so fast (I guess after waiting for so long, it is just adrenaline that gives you the boost to do everything as fast as possible).

Oct 28: Submitted the medical but he waited and they said because it was a day before weekend, to come back on the following Sunday, the first working day and to collect the visa.

Weekend passes and I am wondering what other loophole the had waiting for us.

Nov 2: My husband goes to the embassy, they make him wait 3 hours and say they are not issuing any more visas for the day or something of that sort but later call him to the window and give him his passport, saying that if he found anything wrong, to come back and they would reprint the visa. My husband, who I had taught many many times to check for correction of CR-1 to IR-1, goes back and asks, "Why is this an IR-1?!"

lol. They lady begins to explain and he remembers by constant nagging about the fact that they SHOULD issue an IR-1.

Nov 2-8: I looked for the tickets and had POE in mind, wondering whether they would give him any problems.

During this time my husband buys luggage and hang bag to carry the sealed yellow envelope and the laptop I had given him as a present on my last visit.

Nov 13 - Has a smooth flight but the connecting flight from Heathrow to O'Hare is hectic and has no time to see the shops there. -As a note, when you guys book the tickets, make sure you leave ample time in between connecting flights so they don't have to be running around trying to find their gates like chickens with their heads cut off. Finally after a 21 hour journey by husband reaches POE and gets through very smoothly. No questions asked, though he had printed out a paper with my new address and gave it to immigration. They were pleased that he was so well-prepared and they assured him his greencard and ss will be delivered to this new address.

I hope my many months of topics and posts have made even a bit of a difference to anyone's life. I know that at 6 months, I saw everyone around me literally get their visas one after another...and I was left in the dust. It felt terribly lonely after the time my generation (2006 filers) were mostly all done and I was not given any information about AP. But I assure everyone that even if it takes a while, I always say and will again - if your relationship is valid and your record is clean - you WILL recieve the visas as soon as AP is cleared, which you saw can take a very long time, but eventually gets done.

I will forever remember Nov 13, it is the day when I got my husband in my arms and did not have to worry about living through a suitcase. We high fived each other, humorously, at the airport but it was not only a visa, but a personaly victory for us, that while many many people and situations gave us obstacles, I left the right side of my bed empty to pratice sleeping on one side, lol, and kept the top drawers empty for his clothes. Don't may attention to cynics or negative people. Your love, is entirely yours and I believe, bestowed by God. You WILL be reunited with your loves soon. Everyone's time is different but equally special.

Sending you all my prayers,

Tam

Thank you, Tammy. My fiance's family is being very discouraging and telling him things like "I don't think this AP will end" and "I don't think you will get the visa." When they have no idea about the visa process and they are just making completely uninformed negative speculation. It is so frustrating and it puts him in a negative frame of mind. Now he is starting to take on the "I'm never going to get this visa" mentality and it is leading to arguments and stress between us. I wish I could tell some people, "Mind your own business!"

I am happy to report that my husband is here!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

We recieved the visa on Nov 2 and proceeded to finish the re-medical, the passport printing and buying plane tickets.

I am RELIEVED this horrible thing called AP and visa journey is OVER. They told my husband at POE that he would get his greencard and ss in 3 weeks. Everything went well in the end, no problems at POE.

I am thankful to have a good November update.

I am praying for all of you who are still in AP that it is over soon. 13 months have been hard on us but we are able to put that behind us, learn from it, and start a life which we wish to make successful.

Keep your believes and do not let negative thoughts enter your mind, there IS an end to AP and we are livn proof that even after 13 months the visa can be issued and with the corrected IR-1 catagory.

God bless,

Tam

Tammy....I have goosebumps! We knew it was gonna happen, and it did ! God is good !!! Really, I am just speechless at this point. I'm soooo , soooo happy for you both!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
