so I guess I'm in the opposite side of most of you, my K1 was approved, but now we broke it off and it's over. He's not coming so I just want to cancel and forget about the waste of time that I've been through.

Is anyone out there aware of the process to do this?

I think that it is good for 6 months but after that it is not valid. You might want to call USCIS and write them a letter saying you want it canceled. I could be wrong so hopefully someone with a little more knowledge will come by and help you.

Sorry it didn't work out.

It will expire on its own, but if the petition is already in process, and you want to make sure your SO doesn't try to interview anyway - send a letter and call USCIS.

Send a letter to the USCIS Service Center with a copy to the Consulate (via email also to the Consulate) indicating you are "withdrawing" the petition. Normally, I'd say there's no need to give a reason but since it's on its way to the Consulate already, it would be important to mention the relationship has ended. No need to give a reason for the "end".

With even an email from you, the Consulate is not going to issue a visa. (as long as they see it and match it to the case file)

Sorry to hear that. :( You have to write a letter to the USCIS and the counsalate stating that you wish to withdraw the petition.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE

Don't know if it holds true in all cases but USCIS had me send a notarized letter cancelling my first K1.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!
