This was the same scare tactic used in advertisements for Prop 8.

Oh noes, the gays are going to invade your child's classroom. They are going to invade your home seeking out your acceptance of their marriage!

The very scandalous nature of these sort of speeches should immediately turn a smart person off, however, there are plenty of dumb and scared people to fall for #######.

No kidding. Someone needs to be removed from the altar for thinking he can judge people in that light. A bit pedantic and very much un-Christian of the priest.

He's really got a myopic sense of morality. Even Pope John Paul II talked about other issues withing our culture which undermine the sanctity of life - the Death Penalty, unsafe work environments, lack of health care.

I love talking morality and justice with my brother in law. He's a soon to be priest with SSPX and makes for some very lively discussions about these things.

SSPX?

It was founded in 1970 by the French Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. Since 1988 it has been in a state of dispute with the Holy See, which in that same year stated that Archbishop Lefebvre incurred automatic excommunication by consecrating four SSPX members as bishops against the expressed will of the Pope and after a canonical warning that he would be excommunicated for doing so.

Despite the valid ordination, the priests of the Society are forbidden, under the Code of Canon Law, from celebrating Mass or administering the Sacraments due to the illicit nature of their ordination.

.....

Oh my...that sounds like Mel Gibson type of Catholics.

If somebody is afraid of gays, the guy/girl is still in the closet. Of course if they hit on you, a guy/girl may feel uncomfortable but just to stand next to one, is crazy to think they will take over and gayize the world.

Let them marry, like I'm going to let somebody tell me who I can or can't marry

again, fkuc 'em

Well, this priest doesn't represent all Catholics...he's really out of line.

Oh #######. Kinda like the Opus Dei? Some of my cousins belong to that one. Man they are twisted---and find the perfect excuse to be macho @ssholes. With tons of money, but macho fvcks nonetheless.

Well... SSPX isn't really interested in the political shennanigans the Opus Dei prides itself in. They are more interested in the actual priestly aspects of church doctrine. Hence their strict adherence to old-school church dogma. Going to an SSPX mass is like going to mass as it would have been before the 1950s.

Kinda cool actually... all in Latin except the homilies.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Yeah that was them a couple of years ago. JP.II was rumored to be friendly to them behind the scenes and B.XVI relieved some of the excommunications if memory serves me right. I think it was mainly French Bishops that led the charge against SSPX due to their adherence to old dogma.

Then there's also that line in the daily mass that calls for the conversion of Jews to Catholicism that has so many Jews upset... it was removed from the old format for obvious reasons.

Oh,

I wasn't talking about the priest, I'm talking about all those who voted against gay marriage solely because they are scared that the gays are going to take over and it's just wrong.

As I heard somebody say, "if you think gay marriage is wrong, don't go and marry a gay person"
