hello guys, im one of those VSC applicants originally TSC and moved to VSC. I applied last dec 27, 2007. my greencard expired last march 13, 2008. my questions are;

1. I already have a plane ticket going to Asia to visit my family. Do I need an infopass appointment?

2. Does my passport needs stamp?

I am confused about when my extension letter will expire. please help me clear on this. is it going to expire march 2009? or dec 2008? my greencard expired march 08 and i applied to remove conditions dec 2007. so when will my extension letter expired?

thank you. i will be travelling dec 17 please help.

Your extension letter will expire march 13,2009.. so you are fine. if you are not coming back after 13 march 2009 you don't need your passport stamp.

The NOA works with the green card - you use both of them together - so it extends your green card for one year. If your green card expired in February - it would be until next February. If your green card expired in May, it would be next May. The date on the NOA isn't what matters, ultimately, as it is used in conjunction with the green card

As I understand, and have read here in the forum, the NOA extension extends your GC for another year after the expiration on the GC. So if your GC expired March 2008, that means the NOA extends it for another year, meaning the expiration now will be March 2009. Anyone please confirm or deny this. I always think is a good thing to get your passport stamp regardless of the NOA, that is if they want to give it to you before the NOA expires. Good luck

Another thing, I see that you're probably going to be approved soon or at least someone is going to work on your case. For how long will you be travelling? I ask this because if by any chance you get an RFE you should be able to send those documents by the required time. They usually give a month from the date the send the RFE to the date they should receive those documents from you.

I received my RFE on Oct. 25, the date on the RFE was Oct. 20. At the deadline for sending the document was Nov. 19, exactly one month, and that it's from the date of the RFE. So if the letter takes almost a week to get to you, then you have basically 3 weeks or so to send it.

I have no idea what can be done of you receive an RFE while you're away.
