Dude you hate GM because you are sad about the EV1. Get over it geeezz.

Actually, I don't want to bail out GM for the incompetency in their decision making process. I actually use the "conservative" mindset of not rewarding failure. Funny how conservatives here disagree with me on this.

Save GM, scrap its management.

and the UAW

UAW's management.

Unions = bankruptcy

This has played out over and over again in most heavily unionized industries. US airlines are a great example.

Single reason factors are another way to overgeneralize.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Unions are the source of all of our woes. Not corporate corruption. Or massive tax breaks. Or massive government spending WITH tax breaks.

Hey BTW, does Toyota have a muscle car that can get 26 mpg?

:bonk: those two words don't belong in the same sentence.

Indeed. That's like saying "does Hummer have a hybrid that gets over 30MPG?".

I don't think partaking to Aficionado's ilk (only in real life, not on the internet) is Toyota's MO. Some of us simply use cars to drive from A to B, and want to spend the least amount of money getting there, while, in some fashion, not tearing up people's lungs sitting next to them. For others, it's a bit of a competition in a department related to insecurity.

overall, it sounds like you're cheap/broke, can't afford much other than a shoebox on wheels, and suffer from chrome envy.

Sounds like you're way off in left field again.

nah, i believe that's spot on. you're probably peeved that everyone is looking down on you in traffic jams, ain't you?

Strange, because if I were one to have a problem with it, I'd probably be the one IN one of those. Instead, they're wasting money sitting in a traffic jam and I'm just fine. The only one with a problem here is you.

no problem here, i've got a good view. how do you like my aluminum rims from down there?

I think they're a waste of money and cheesy, but that's just me!

Oh, and an attempt to overcompensate for something.

lemme know how it goes when you try to pull out tree stumps or pull a flatbed trailer with a prius. ;)

SVRT's knowledge of cars was thrown out the window when he stated that a 3spd neon gets 45mpg.

maybe with a 70 mph tailwind.

is this a 3-on-the-tree model?

if it's a 90 mph wind then it's a one on the tree model

If GM files bankruptcy it soed not mean that it ceases to exist.

It would not mean the end of the auto industry.

Allow for restructing, a much stronger, profitable and resposive company would more than likely emerge.

Bankruptcy does not mean death.

Okay, everyone who will buy a car, refrigerator, stereo from a company in bankruptcy hold up your hands.

Let me see....three people....

Yes, bankruptcy should mean that they should be able to restructure and such but, by doing so will they cut their own throat?

People will do what they please when given the option.

So... if you could buy a NON-gas-guzzling muscle car. At an affordable price... would you buy it?

Sure. That Tesla Roadster thing is pretty cool, though I hate the idea of having to plug it in to charge.

Yeah... it can be a bit of a hassle if the KWHr is expensive... but I do believe reducing KWHr to engine energy usage it is much cheaper than the unit price of gasoline, even at a high octane.

And IF we switch to more ecological sources for our electricity then... the investment becomes much more justifiable and marketable.

And all those autoworkers can be retrained to work cars like these.

Each car should come with it's own garage, made entirely of solar panels. A "hot shoe" on the floor of the garage would connect with the car when it is parked, and the car would be charged through that.

There. Easy solution. lol

What is the bet the SVRT is the opposite of a pickup driver. That is, he is one of the following types of car owners who makes up for his cars whiny puny engine with a ####### extension exhaust. The most annoying sound in the world. Four cyl with a large exhaust.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

GM sucks ####### and deserves to die. The people who depend on them for a job, however, don't. Personally, I'd be overjoyed to see GM shutter it's factories and go away for good. They've built too many ####### cars for too many years. Chrysler, too. However, my town would be a ghost town if one or all of the "Big Three" failed.

And where would you suggest that these workers look for employment?

Did I, or did I not say that I would love to see them go away except that it would affect far too many people? I'm pretty sure that was the general theme of my reply.
