Uh oh, boy wonder from down under is going after degrees again. E-####### +5 points.

Well considering my friend is an engineer at GM in AUS I think I would have some idea. I argued with him about the same car until he mentioned the actual reasons they scrapped it. Which made a lot of sense. He did admit they made a mistake underestimating the demand for a prius though.

To name a few: First of all it was a hideous car. Second of all they were producing the cars at a loss. GM is not Greenpeace.

Would Californians like you buy it once they saw the carbon footprint required to produce and discard the batteries. No. You would be making films on how GM is polluting the earth.

The car makes we want to vomit.

omg that's an ugly car :dead:

Pfft, you love the rim protector there. People be wantin' to jack them rims.

If I had rims like that on my car I would invite people to steal them

GM also underestimated the demand of the Prius in a time when SUVs were still selling like hotcakes!

I agree.

When did the Prius become so in demand? Not until gas was $4 gallon. How hard was it to buy one 2 years ago when gas was 2.00? The demand increased when gas went thru the roof here. GM built what Americans were buying, trucks and SUV's. It was quite profitable. And look at SRVT's beloved Toyota. They brought the Tundra to market just before the gas prices went crazy. Why did the genius of Toyota produce a gas guzzling full size pick up? Because they wanted a slice of the pie that was dominated by Ford and GM. What a shock! Good old fashioned business sense. Why let the Americans make all the money on trucks? I wonder why the majority of real work trucks are Amercian made and not the almighty Japanese? The American auto companies catered to the market that made them the most money. I guess that makes them stupid, right Steve?

GM sucks ####### and deserves to die. The people who depend on them for a job, however, don't. Personally, I'd be overjoyed to see GM shutter it's factories and go away for good. They've built too many ####### cars for too many years. Chrysler, too. However, my town would be a ghost town if one or all of the "Big Three" failed.

And where would you suggest that these workers look for employment?

Likely because they make American trucks "bigger". Ever wonder why people look at American trucks and think they're trying to compensate for something? This is largely why I laugh when people suggest to me it's merely for work. How many F250's used for hauling throw on an extra lift kit?

. By the way, something you may not know about California has a rather comprehensive battery recycling plan that covers ALL batteries. This is what happens when you stupidly assume things, which I'm sure doesn't bother you. More fun for me.

I guess we all can't be know it alls. And you stupidly assume you know it all.

The Prius sucks.

Be careful, Steve won't like you anymore.

He already doesn't like me ever since I outed him as a member of the Communist Poker Party Club.

I do like our two cars though - a japanese and a korean.

No, I'm just good at picking my battles.

See how you feel when your employer or industry disappears. ** them, right?

#### happens. Find another job. Being that Aficionado seems to confuse my Business education with "Liberal Arts" (good one, wild tangent), I'm not exactly stuck in one industry or one position. Hell, I've also done security. One of my good friends owns a security company and needs management. This is what having connections does.

Why did Toyota want to get into the full size truck market? Profit, plain and simple. Maybe Japanese auto lovers look at American trucks like that. The millions who drive them do not. I wonder why people like you always try to find a way to relate things like this to ####### size. Are you obsessed with your lack thereof??:lol:

How about if 2 million are also looking for your job?

But he may not like Korean cars. Better sell it and get a Toyota.
