Hi all, Please Help.

Our interview was yesterday. We had the luck of being interviewed by the wicked witchette from the West (the young, rude lady every dreads meeting). Anyway, the interview went okay except for the fact that my fiance had opted to have his medical sent directly to the Embassy and they did not and I did not have an affidavit of support, but had ample evidence of support. We were given a blue sheet and told that as soon as they receive the medical they will call my husband and have him bring a copy of the affidavit. She told me I did not need to come back for that.

We already went by the Hospital and picked up the Medical, which was laying there peacefully waiting for us, and Airpak'd it to the Embassy yesterday. I just filled out the Affidavit and realized that it has to be notarized at the Embassy. How am I going to accomplish this. Please help. I am at my wit's end. :crying:

I am confused...you have to fill out an avidavit of support as a K1? Thats the I-864 right? I thought K1's didnt have to do that, cause their is a $70 fee CR1's pay for that at the NVC stage. Are you guys married? Also....if it is the AOS...that DOES NOT have to be notorized. Are you sure you have the correct form?

She's K-1, the I-134 has to be notarized. Are you back in the states? If not, they have places in Jamaica where you can have documents notarized.

Tre is right, it does have to be notarized. Any notary can do it.

According to the JA embassy in D.C., they actually consider a doctor, a lawyer, a minister, a JP, and anyone else that is authorized to notarize it. We went to a pharmacy in downtown MoBay and had the pharmacist there notarize it. Probably a bank has one too.

If in JA, he should know someone or can ask around.

If you are back in the US, find a notary and then ship it down to him.

The Form she marked on the blue sheet is I-134 Affidavit. This is all new to me. I am still in JA until Monday the 17th. I am still in Kingston until tonite. Thanks for your support.

It seems like you have reliable net access. Here is a link from USCIS for the form. Fill it out and print it and you should be able to find someone in JA who can notarize it.

Yes. That is what I was hoping to do, but I was wondering if anyone can notarize or if the embassy has to do it. I will not know how to accomplish that feat. You can only go there by invitation.

It doesn't have to be notarized by the embassy. Just has to be notarized by a notary or a justice of the peace as they sometimes call them in JA. You shouldn't have a hard time finding someone to notarize it. The bottom of the form even has a little section for the notary to fill out so they don't even have to figure out what to write.

Thanks all. You saved me once again. By the way, that Flat Bridge is no joke. Next time warn a sista. LOL

How can such a phenomenon occur in the middle of a mountain. My fiance thought it was the funniest thing, but I was ready to pee on myself.

Good Luck to all future interviewees and thanks to everyone.
