I'm having a bout of homesickness that's bumming me right out. I have an approved green card but it had an error so I had to send it back. I have no idea when I might get the correct one back, don't know if it's possible to make an infopass to get a stamp. I don't know if it's worth it, if I might get the card soonish.

Some of my family were supposed to visit this month and just cancelled until September (for really good reasons, but still it'####### me hard). I'm busy like crazy at work and happy as heck with CAPS, but just feeling like I'll never get out of the government paperwork and just be able to see my grandparents again (they can't travel and they've been sick).

I thought maybe a little whining here would work like it seems to for others...right after the whine/rant, something good happens. ;)

Until then, hopefully y'all can commisserate or at least help me feel a little better. :)

*hug* Your VJ family is always ready to lend an ear. You're a very positive and intelligent person, your feelings are totally normal, and I know I and many other people hope you feel better soon. :)

Sorry about that, I am sure it's tough to stay away from the family.

It's got me thinking though. During the process we're eager, desperate and can't wait to go to our hubbies and fiances, and then we get homesick and can't wait to go back to our mommies and daddies. :P

Thanks you all. I know it's pretty natural and I've done well so far. I'm really happy and settling quite well, overall, just occasionally it gets to me. I guess my family not being able to come tipped the balance.

I'm going to make CAPS take me shopping tonight. I'm sure things will be better then. ;)

((((HUGS))))

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

Awww...I really hope you feel better. I'm not very good at cheering people up. When I lived in UK with my hubby, I got boughts of homesickness that nearly crippled me. But, they do come in waves. I promise. Just keep your eye on the prize!
