Honeymoon options, I know I know stay in the USA but..

Hey fellow VJ-er's I was daydreaming about what it would be like for my fiance to finally be here and where we would go for our honeymoon. I was wondering if we could go on a cruise? I would want to take a cruise to the Caribbean but I think that its not possible because he cannot leave the US. But if we only stop at US islands and we are on the ship is that an exception to being on international waters? Any experience, facts, thoughts? Thanks!

Unless your talking a Mississippi River cruise -

I wouldn't risk going off-shore

Unlikely, however the ship could be diverted to another port due to

weather, mechanical or a very ill passenger

I've looked into getting married on a cruise. Unfortunately all cruises have one stop in a different country and need to do so to keep the gambling legal on their ships.

Cruises to Alaska stop in Canada, cruises to Hawaii make a stop in Mexico, and I am assuming the cruises from the East Coast all go out of country.

When you board the cruise ship you have to go through customs....so that would mean you were going outside of the country and void your Visa you came down on.

Unless you can find some kind of cruise that doesn't leave the US, cruising isn't a viable option unfortunately.

I was planning the same thing for our honeymoon, and this question came up. I believe there are cruises 7 night cruises in Hawaii that only go to the hawaiian islands. Anyone have any other advice?

U.S. citizens traveling on cruises that begin and end in the same U.S. port must show proof of citizenship (such as an original or certified copy of a birth certificate) and a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license). Effective June 1, 2009, U.S. citizens traveling on cruises that begin and end in different U.S. ports, or begin or end in a foreign port, must have a passport or other recognized document. For a complete list of accepted documents, see www.travel.state.gov.

U.S. Alien Residents need a valid Alien Resident Card. Canadian citizens must present a valid passport.

Non-U.S. citizens need a valid passport and a valid, unexpired U.S. Multiple Re-entry Visa, if applicable
