Anyone here in UAE? (Dubai)

Hello everyone! anyone here have been or currently under petition process thru UAE, US Embassy? Just curious at how it works here....coz iam currently here but since its not my homebase, i wonder if there such things as more and/or unfavorable instances..... just wanna hear it from actual experience/s , if any. Thank u so much for sharing.

Hey there, I'm in the UAE too. I'm the citizen, he's the Iranian that has been living here a while. I decided there was no way I could file for a fiance visa and sit around at my parents place while I wait. So I packed my bags and returned to the UAE. Later, once Hoom and I have gotten married (sometime in the next 6 or 7 months) we will do DCF.

You have to have been resident here for 6 months before you can file. Then I've been told it can be a wait of 8 months or more before he gets his visa, etc. I expect us to be here another year or two.

We got our visa relatively quickly with few hassles (just make sure you have your NBI clearance for your interview and not a barangay clearance). The staff, at least in our experience, were quite friendly and helpful. Judging from other people's experiences it seems like much less of a hassle than going through Manila.

We got our visa relatively quickly with few hassles (just make sure you have your NBI clearance for your interview and not a barangay clearance). wow! thats something encouraging! ....i think am right to stick with filing it here instead of PI. earlier i was in dilemma coz i've spoken to a fellow pinay who choosed to file in PI eventhou she's in UAE and added that she has spoken to the US embassy-AD and wasnt friendly. hhmm.....althou iam not convince how it works to file it in PI while u stay in UAE. Isnt that a conflict of current address? I wonder. Anyway, yes the process will be here in UAE coz this is my address for 2 yrs now and wont be home in PI anyway.

BTW, do u mean to say -the police cert/ clearance from each local place one has lived/stayed in PI is no longer necessary?Does NBI covers it all? (represents the PI as a whole?) Thank u so much and hope to hear from u again. Bless us all

Just go down to the American Consulate, it's at the World Trade Center. But don't forget to take your passport otherwise security won't let you through. DCF for your spouse is supposed to be the quickest way to get the visa/greencard for them and then they can start working in the states right away instead of waiting around for 90 days on the traditional fiance visa. I'm doing things this way since I knew there was no way I could support him for 3 months.

What you will need is the NBI clearance. You may want to get CENOMAR just to be safe but we weren't even asked for it.

The consulate in Dubai does not process Immigrant petitions (which includes k1 visas) she will have to go to Abu Dhabi for her interview.

Is DCF different? Are you sure you won't have to go through Abu Dhabi?

do u really think this applies to me too? Because i read on the first part that u are a local emirati (?)....so maybe this applies to the local residents of UAE. Iam from PI and only working here with 3 years residence visa....anyway, thank you for the information and for directing me to Dubai forum (iam yet to check after posting this. )

They do have list of panel physicians in Dubai for the medical examination but the interview and all the paper works are to be done in Abu Dhabi, and not Dubai according to my understanding. It would be more favorable distance-wise if its in Dubai thou. Inshallah! Thank you replying. bless us all!

You will be able to do your medical in Dubai or whatever emirate your closet to but the interview will be in Abu Dhabi.

The medical is actually quite easy, they will send you a list of places that do medicals for the embassy. We went to one in Diera that was quick and painless We went a couple weeks before our interview and if I remember correctly they had it ready the same day or a day later.

iam so much relieved to hear from u who actually went through the process here. iam convinced that UAE is the more appropriate place to file mine since ive been here for years and will stay here till .......hopeful............. all ends well and fly to my hub. That would be nice for interview to be held in Dxb but accordingly, the medical can be done here but not interview. Well, maybe (again) locals have this special privilege.
