Free calling to and from MENA

I am sure this has been talked over time and time again ... but is there really free calling to and from MENA using the Internet to get throu to mobiles and landlines? I keep looking and looking but am finding zip ... I am going broke with buying cards! S**t why can't my family just buy a PC ?!

Haven't you people heard of Skype? Don't you people watch Oprah? Sheesh, I thought everyone used Skype to video chat with their family over the PC.

You can call a landline or mobile phone using Skype but it costs something. I think it's cheaper than if you just call using a regular phone though.

But Skype is free to download and free to use to call PC to PC. Just download skype to your computer, set it up, make sure you have a headset with microphone and then your friends and family download and set up Skype on their computer as well. Then you can instant message or call your family on skype and talk as long as you want for free and if you have a webcam they can see you live too. Unfortunately my mom doesn't have a webcam so I don't get to see her but I turn on my webcam for her to see me unless i'm having a bad hairday.

Now that my old mum has figured out how to use Skype we talk every day.

no no no, use magicjack. they plug it into their computer. You activate it and give it a number that is local to you. you pay like 26 dollars a year for it. send it to ur relative over seas. They plug it to their computer, and use it to call u. u can also call them and either way it is unlimited calling at no extra charge!!!! we use it alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time and the connection is fantastic! I highly recommend it!!!!!

Neither does my husband's family so skype isn't really an option unless you call from skype to their phone which btw isn't as cheap as most of the cards out there.

I meant her family in the US...not family in Egypt (in her case Algeria). However, you could download it on any computer and plug it in...even an internet cafe...however thats a lot of work!

They could either load it to a cafe computer OR a friends computer. U know how close they are with their friends so I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult. If they don't have a pc at home, chances are that they hav eto go to a cafe anyway to talk via computer, so why not hook up magic jack on the pc they're at and make a free phone call while they're at it lol. They just have to remember to take "jack" with them when they leave.
