will temp assistance effect lifting conditons

I was divorced and had three kids and was on temporary assistance before I met and married my now husband. He came on the fiance visa, he has been working for the year that he has been here, however his employment was only temp and his contract ended on October 23. He is now getting unemployment, however I have three kids and I can not work right now. He is trying to find a job. But I was thinking to apply for some help with food stamps for a temp solution untill he gets a new job.

My question is will this be a problem with his green card, next year when we apply for lifting conditions, and will it affect the co sponser who provided us with affidavit of support??
