I got a hold after waiting half an hour with a USCIS operator, they said the I129F Fiance visas are supposed to go straight to the embassy and the letter i got from them was wrong. I told her she must be mistaken, but then she told me she had been working there for 3 years and that was standard procedure. Now I don't know what to think, but it does remind me of people saying they were surprised that their application was suddenly received at their embassy. I'll just call Guangzhou tomorrow, or later tonight and find out what the hell. Maybe all this worrying should have been directed in china's general direction and not at the incompetency of US government workers.

You won't be able to call Guanghzou direct. All of the calls are out-sourced to a call company in Shanghi. It is a pay per call feature, and it is paid ahead of time (by you or the fiance, cash, credit card). They do have an English option, but good luck getting an English operator. Also, because you do not have your GUZ# assigned by NVC yet, they will not be able to tell you anything (just use up your money for the call). (Just saving you some time and money here).

You can try email (it's free, but much slower), just make sure it is from your same email you included on your I-129F. Again, you will need to supply your GUZ# assigned by NVC for the email (but you can try without??).

Forget the time lines you see here as a whole, they do not compare to the wait you will have with Guanghzou. If you want to get a more true picture of your time frame, look only at Guanghzou time lines (NVC-P3-P4-interview).

But then again, there is a lull now with the K1's, so Guanghzou is cleaning house lately with the back log of everything else.

i really want to strangle that lady at the USCIS that told me that bogus stuff. i waited on the phone for half an hour and was essentially lied to so she could get to the next poor chap waiting to talk to an incompetent government employee. i just really want to know where my visa application is. my fiancee is convinced she'll never get to come to america. if they don't get their act together soon, i'm just going to move to china next year instead of 2009. such jerks.

does anybody know if it is possible to contact the California Service station directly and talk to someone who is qualified to work there and could tell me where the visa is??

but i guess u might get the same silly answer i got... please allow 30 days for this action to occur... blablablabla....to moove a couple of fingers on a computer and check the whereabout of a petition... 30 f...days... anyway.. dont wanna get high blood pressure or headaches every single day coz of them.. i will try not to hope for anything anymore from them...

yep... u are so right!! even i am hopless, there is not one hour passing without me thinking what i could do or when things will move again.. if ever.. i wish i could know, if anybody before had such a experience, to wait for damn 6 and over weeks just for a petition beeing fowarded from X to Y within the wonderfull USA...and, if yes, what they have done, and how long it took maximum. oh well, i think i dont even want to know this. guess maximum can be forever.

i wish i could bribe... but, even if i could, i guess i wouldnt have any money remaining anymore, after all this hunderts and hunderts of $ i use and will use for the whole process...normaly the customer ( who pays) is client.. well, normaly.

My NOA2 is dated May 23rd from Nebraska and since there is no sign of my application at NVC I started to worry. I noticed there are few other VJ members, who received their NOA2 from Nebraska around same date and have no entry at NVC received date field at their time line. I'd appreciate any response from them.

I'm not sure.

Pretty much everyone here will tell you NO, K-1's are not entered into the system.

But I was told yesterday, by an NVC operator, that they are.

(However, the operators at NVC seem to get things wrong an awful lot!)

My suggestion is for someone (or a few someones!) who has RECENTLY had their K-1 SUCCESSFULLY go through NVC and reach their consulate to call NVC now and check their automated system with their CIS number, then tell us if it worked or not. That way, we shouild know for certain if there have been any recent changes about this.

Any volunteers???

p.s. AandK, you've only been waiting 2 weeks. That is entirely normal, since they say it can normally take 2 to 4 weeks to go through NVC.

Well when I was calling them twice a day about a week after my NOA2 when she asked for the date I said I didn't have it in front (even though I knew the date by heart of course) of me so she wouldn't yell at me and tell me to wait longer. Not that that changed anything because she still didn't have any record but then after about 2 weeks I called one day and she informed me it had been sent to the Consulate... so I don't know why yours is taking so long for a K-1! Better call the service center.
