Is it better for both of us to go to the interview? Would that help chances for approval? Would me attending my husbands interview when and if he ever gets the date help lessen his chances of being put on Administrative Processing? We have all the documents lined up perfectly because he hired a lawyer, so missing any documents won't be a factor in holding us back.

Thoughts?

I think it helps, sure. But how much, who knows? You dont get to go inside the interview with him. So really, the benefit is just for him to say.. my wife is waiting outside.

But, if you can afford it, GO! I would go just to be with my husband again. :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I know someone who's case was denied even though she went with him. As Lisa said, you can not go with him inside the actual interview. I think you should go for support though-if you can afford to do so. I think the same thing will happen whether you attend or not. These days they are issuing AP to most all of the Pakistani individuals....both male and female. I am going to try my best to go with my husband when and "if" we ever get approved just for support. But, if he gets AP I will realize it was wasting money to travel there and not be abe to return home together. I think you have to make yor own judgement on this circumstance. Didn't you just have a new baby? Are you planning to take him/her too? If so, be very careful traveling that far with him/her.....you know the health precautions there are far worse for babies. Good luck!

I don't know how does it work in your consulate, but we went to the K-3 interview together, and they let us both in. It definitely helped, the CO said she doesn't need to see any pictures or other evidence of our relationship, because it is obvious that we're married from the way we interact with each other. So if you can go I would recommend it, especially if they will let you in to the interview. Your husband can call the embassy or consulate and ask.

Good luck!

If the consular officer even knows the USC spouse is there, I would think it would help. Everything else still has to be in order, but just being in the same vicinity helps. If you're brave you can send your passport to the interview even if you aren't allowed inside. The CO to my son: "We appreciate you being here, but we just want to talk to your wife."

Note the assumption on the officer's part that they are married, and proving a bonafide marriage is rather important in order to obtain a K-3 visa.

I want to be with my husband when he goes for his interview. I know he wont be able to come back with me right away but I want the opportunity to be supportive, celebrate his approval and be with his family & friends before he comes to America - who knows when we'll be able to get back there!

Good luck with your decision - I know its not any easy one

Yes, it will always help but you might have to get prior permission from embassy to attend interview with your spouse.

Good luck!
