Hello everyone. I'm going positively insane! For some reason it's WORSE when you file and it's WORSE knowing you have 4 months to wait. Kind of like waiting for water to boil.

...But you all know this.

I filed in august and we have not been touched yet. I'm assuming this is not unusual, but it would be really REALLY nice to know our case has been at least LOOKED at!

My questions are (and I'm sorry for all the blathering):

Do people usually get touched after a certain amount of time, or could it happen it any time?

Do the people at the border have a record of our NOA1 in their computer?

I'm curious.

Thanks in advance!

Some people can go the entire time without a touch... and even when you are touched.. it could mean nothing at all.

I know it's hard... we've all been there... but try not to worry too much about the touches. In actuality, they usually mean very little until approval time...and even then, it's hard to tell.

Your time will come! Stay busy and stay happy!

So true KimandRuss. My case wasn't 'touched' until about 30 days into the process, then nothing for a week, then touch touch touch approval. I once heard it said that a touch could be a person moving the file from one desk to another, or even setting their coffee cup on it. Who knows? Stay busy and get things prepared to send to your fiance for the interview. :D

Ours doesn't even show up in the online system, and I would guess at this point it probably wont ever. After a lot of worry and a lot of frustration trying to get through to someone to inquire, we were told not to worry about what's in the online system.

It would be nice to be able to see if there's an RFE that we don't receive in the mail, because I have heard of that happening, but I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that things go smoothly.

As far as showing up in the computer system at the border, I have to assume it does not, since I have crossed about once a week since we applied in July and have never been asked about it.

Good luck to you! It shouldn't be too long now!

These folks are correct. Sometimes you wont even get one touch at all (sad we want someone to touch us ROFL)

Then bam..sometimes it takes 4 months to 6 months depends on issues or the person who has your file..do not expect it to be 4 months because if it does not happen in 4 months you will be disapointed.

On the 15th it will be 4 months for us and our timeline states

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between December 3, 2008 and December 12, 2008*.

so see..it might be over 4 months (it will be for sure) BUT it is worth it in the end. He will be home soon so im okay with that

STAY BUSY hun!! will make it faster:)

best of wishes
