I have become a financial nerd in some ways, it's all Sujeet's fault. We watch Suze Orman when we can. She used to get on my nerves but now I can't get enough. I love when she tells people "DENIED!!!". Anyone know what I am talking about? A friend, who also watches her(man we all are getting old) wrote a message from Suze Orman in my birthday card, so funny. Yeahmy birthday was not long ago even though this was the first year on VJ that I had no bday thread. :crying: That's when I knew me and VJ would never be the same again.

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your house and I don't know that this will actually cheer you up per-se - but!

Last week in the Orlando Sentinel there was an article about a couple that had a problem with their house sinking and were told basically that it was their fault or their problem or whatever - so they were stuck.

What they then did was hire a professional to view and assess the damage/problem and deal with the builder (or the insurance company, can't remember which).

Anyway, they ended up happy!

I tried to find the article but couldn't, not sure if you have already used this approach or not but thought I would pass it along for what it is worth. Good luck

Thanks. :)

We do have a public adjuster on our side, so we aren't alone dealing with the insurance company so that's better for us. She is our mediator.

Sorry to hear about the sinkhole. Happens in Central Florida quite a lot though. :(

Here is a skit someone in the UK put together to make fun of my command of Discovery.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

when i first started to work out here at the gym, i used to borrow my hubby's t-shirt. So one day I went to the gym and everybody was staring at me, and there I was, thinking i looked extremely hot, but no... it was my ''hot dickin cider'' shirt

Thanks for the efforts...

Tomorrow evening we meet with the lawyer. Our adjuster wants us to decide soon if we are going to pursue that route. You see, the lawyer and adjuster would work on our behalf against the insurance company on breach of contract. The insurance company promises to fix a house to it's non-sinkhole damaged condition. But many times the insurance company does the bare minimum and screws the home owner. So the lawyer, if proceeded with, would investigate our sinkhole repairs done by the insurance company and if they find the promise wasn't fulfilled, will start a case against the insurance. But this kind of stuff gives me a bad feeling in my stomach.
