Congrats Greg,ive been patiently waiting for my IL,cant wait and it has been two months and few days already. Hope to recieve it soon.

I think the Honolulu office is a little slower than the other offices in scheduling appointments. Our bio appt and interview were scheduled much later than other people who filed the same time. The good news is that they seem to be fast at approving!!

Our news is that we had the AOS interview yesterday and we were approved!! :dance::dance:

We should be receiving the GC in the mail in a few weeks.

11/13/2008 - I-129F NOA1 issue date

11/17/2008 - Received NOA1 hard copy in the mail

1/23/2009 - Received email stating I was approved (NOA2) on 1/22/2009

1/26/2009 - Recieved NOA2 hard copy in the mail

4/29/2009 - Embassy interview date - was put into AP (given a form with 221(g) box checked)

12/25/2009 - Still stuck in AP- almost 8 MONTHS and counting... :(

12/28/2009 - Embassy finally called my gal for another "interview"

1/14/2010 - VISA APPROVED at the second interview- took about 8 1/2 months of AP

1/21/2010 - Visa delivered by courier- BUT, she opened sealed envelope that was for U.S. Immigration at POE.

Now embassy in Bogota wants us to do the medicals all over again.... nightmare continues.....

2/22/2010 - She went back to Bogota to get labs and medical re-done. Then back to embassy where they finally

re-issued the visa. Is valid until July 13th

7/3/2010 - She made it to the U.S. finally!!! I filed on November 11th 2008 and went thru 8 1/2 months of AP

12/16/2010 - Sent in packet by Fed Ex to Chicago

1/7/2011 - Notified by email from USCIS packet was received

1/25/2011 - Notified by email we are receiving an RFE

2/4/2011 - Sent translated birth cert in (RFE)

2/9/2011 - Biometrics done

I finally have gotten some good news- we got the visa approved after 8 1/2 months since our first interview and put into AP- it's been a long journey!

That's great news Joe. Did your fiancee receive her Visa now? When will she come here?

One thing to think about is her medical. When you file for AOS, the medical must not be more than one year old. If it is, a new one is needed along with vaccination certification. The form that is submitted with the AOS package is the I-864. If the medical is less than a year old, then only the vaccination certification portion is completed by a civil surgeon.

I was in Colombia Jan. 9-18 We went to embassy on 14th and got approved. BUT, as my luck goes, check this out:

In Colombia the visa is sent by a private courier called Domesa and arrives about one week later, which it did, to her house. So, inside the package is her passport and other paperwork. One envelope is sealed and marked "DO NOT OPEN" as it is for U.S. Immigration when you enter U.S at POE. So what happens? She accidentally opens it. So, now the whole package is not valid until it is re-sealed. well, that seems like an act of Congress to do. She will probably have to return all the way to the embassy (12 hour bus each way) to fix. So, I just hope she will do it soon and come by summer. The visa is valid until July 13th. So, we had a valid visa for about 3 minutes.... Just shoot me!

I along with mom and dad, hopefully, will go back for interview and come back , hopefully and prayerfully, with Houcine.

This is such a mental process....I would never have thought I would be, along with him and our families, would be going through something like this...but it is what it is.....LOVE!! and what we do for it. Hey, hang in there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!! Keep us posted, we will do the same.

Hey Rach,

Just wanted to pass on the latest info: Valeria was in Bogota last week to try and get the visa re-issued. She went to the embassy on Thur. to pick up her packet, that they were holding. By the time she got it that morning, it was too late to get the labs- they are only open from 7 am until 10 am each day. So, when she went to the doctor's office later that Thur. afternoon, they wouldn't do the medical- need labs first. So, she went back to get lab work on Friday morning, then doctor on Friday late afternoon- they made her do about 6 shots again, of course. She had to wait over the weekend in Bogota until this morning to go take the results back to the embassy. We thought they would make her pay for Domesa (the courier everyone has to use to get the visa delivered) and then probably wait a few weeks for them to re-issue it and it send out. But, she got lucky and they gave her the visa package after a short wait. So, she now has a "valid" visa that is good until July- unless, of course, there is an act of war, act of God, or maybe the dog will eat the package :rolleyes:
