When you called the NVC, did they have any advice on what actions you can take? I received my NOA2 the week after you and when I called the NVC, they told me they had already sent our case to Manila on March 9. Good luck - I hope it turns up soon!

Hi November filers,

Congrats on the approvals.

We received our NOA2 email yesterday!! No touches prior to the email.

For those still waiting, we hope you receive yours soon.

Greg

Congrats- finally, huh!!!

Joe

Hey Greg,

Sitting in the airport in Bogota as we speak, heading back to L.A. We sent in the paperwork to the embassy in Colombia on Friday, so they should have on Monday (16th) and then we will probably get an appointment in May- what's the latest with you?

Joe

P.S. Continued luck to all........

Hi Joe,

Thanks!

Now on the the next step.

I received a letter from NVC notifying me that they have received the approved I-129F.

How did you find out the date NVC sent your package to the embassy and when the embassy received it? I checked out the DHL tracking method described on this site, but not sure how I know if my petition is actually in the DHL package sent to the embassy.

Hope you had a great trip to see your fiancee. Are you back home now?

Greg

Hey Greg,

This is how i did it:

1. Once your I-129F is approved (NOA2), your case will be forwarded to the National Visa Center.

2. Start calling NVC everyday about 2 days after your I-129F has been approved at: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5. You will need to reach a live person to get information on your case since the NVC’s automated system does not handle K1 visas.

Give this person your NOA1 receipt #, they will let you know if your package has been received. Once NVC receives your case, they will assign a new case # Make sure you get the new case # and write it down.

A. If it has not been received.

Keep calling every few days until they receive it. Don’t pay attention

to their script. They will tell you it may take 4 weeks for them to receive your case. It does not usually take that long. Sometimes it only takes a few days.

B. If your case has been received.

Ask them if it has been forwarded to the embassy. If your case has not been forwarded, wait a day and then call again. NVC does not usually hold the cases more than a few days.

3. After NVC sends your package to the embassy it should arrive in approximately 3 business days via DHL. Your package will also be sent electronically to the embassy but it needs to physically arrive before the embassy takes action.

4. When you estimate that your package has arrived at the embassy call DOS at 202-663-1225 x1, x0 to confirm. You will need your new case number.

That is how i tracked it- give that a try! I am back home in So Cal now...

Yes, you just have to give them your case number that you were assigned for your NOA1 for them to check it- you do not have to wait for the hard copy in the mail, since the case number does not change at this step. It takes about a week or so before the NVC has it it there system- then they will give you a new case number- my new one began with "BGT" code for Bogota, since my fiancee's embassy is "Bogota" Colombia- make sure you write down the new case number they will then assign to you... yours may start with TWN or TAI or something that would indicate Taiwan

How is everyone doing? Kind of quiet here! I just found out my interview date- April 29th at the embassy in Bogota Colombia....

Anyone else have an appt. scheduled?

Joe

Hi Joe,

Congrats on the interview date. Congrats to all others who have their date scheduled.

We are off to Hong Kong next week. We'll complete the embassy package there and hopefully get the interview and visa within a month or so. Planning POE in June.

Best of luck to all our filers!

Greg
