So the group has a website. So what?

I'm trying a little PR for Christianity so that those offended by some people's answers that 'all Muslims will go to hell,' will understand that Christian Fundamentalists don't speak for all Christians.

I have to chime in with what Tamara said. I think most of the people who picked the Muslim option were doing it for stupid reasons, who knows who it was really. You know how people mess with polls. I am just assuming here. I did not pick that one, while I do believe there is only one way to God. If I had to pick only one option, I also picked it is close at hand, even though I don't know how close it is. But realistically, every day we are getting closer, not farther away, lol. :innocent:

From Platy:

"I'd hate to live my life constantly thinking that the world is going to end soon, that I have a bunch of rules to obey or I'll burn for all eternity, etc. I prefer my method, which is to live my life a certain way because it is 'right'; not because some invisible dude in the sky says so. I don't fear the end of the world, I don't fear "hell". I just fear fanatics."

Um, well I don't live my life in fear everyday. I wouldn't want to live that way either. You shouldn't assume people who are Christians do. I fear people who think they know what's up and really don't and are very boisterous about it. Ok, I don't really even fear them. ;) There's nothing to fear. I am a generally happy person who has many great friends and family and a good life. I wish all would be very happy. Some people are always bitter or grumpy or ranting, why should I want what they have? No thank ya.

Ever since the bible was written and read to people, they have believed that the end times were upon them. The year 1000 (or 1001, depending on who was doing the prophesying) was OBVIOUSLY the end of the world. Then there was a series of events that followed the outline in revelations. Then there was another series of events. Then another. Still no end of the world. More predictions, more xians walking around saying that the world was ending soon. In 2000 they said that there was no doubt - this was IT. World hasn't ended yet. Guess what. World isn't going to end as predicted in revelations. It's all a load of hooey. I'd hate to live my life constantly thinking that the world is going to end soon, that I have a bunch of rules to obey or I'll burn for all eternity, etc. I prefer my method, which is to live my life a certain way because it is 'right'; not because some invisible dude in the sky says so. Love God, love your neighbor, love yourself. You don't believe in God, but you clearly believe in the other two, Platy. So I don't see how that is too different from what I believe, except that I do believe in God.....

Did that make any sense?

Makes sense to me. I'd like to think that if God exists that he would be ok with it too.

I was talking about the "End Times" fanatics, not general, everyday Christians.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Platy hates people, so I seriously doubt he "loves his neighbor."

Knowing who lives next door to us, I can categorically confirm that Platy does indeed hate his neighbours! :P

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

But I guess as a non-Christian myself, I just don't grasp the concept of only Christians can go to heaven.

You don't need to grasp the concept. It's their made-up concept from their made-up religion. Who gives a ####### how they came up with it or which bodily orifice the idea emanated from? It's a load of BS anyway.

Harrumph!

I really don't think about such depressing things. If it happens then it happens and if it doesn't then it doesn't. If it's part of some bigger plan then it's going to happen if we want it to or not so why sit around and worry about it. Enjoy your life and don't worry about things you can't control.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

I had a freaky dream last night that was kind of apocalyptic. Except it was an attack on the US. It involved volcano like substances being shot into the sky, pieces of fiery ash, and falling down around everyone and weird bad people all wearing a similar Bush-esque mask in suits with big guns and fancy cars. In my dream it was Iran who had done it...lol. People were disappearing everywhere(I mean because they were being taken somewhere, not disappearing in the rapture sense). I went into a house to find people who went in there and never came out, only to almost get trapped too. And here's the more abnormal part, you would get sucked back into the house or away from the doors by an unseen magnetic force. :o

Do I believe that an Apocalypse will happen? Sure

Do I obsess over it on a constant basis? Nope.

Do I try to unravel the mystery that is the Book of Revelation? Nope.

Am I a Christian? yep.
