Hello everyone... :dancing:

While i'm not new to VJ this is however my first time posting. I've been more a vouyer since 2004 and can run down each visa process to the awe of all my friends like a champ.

*sigh* but looks like i'm about to really go through with this thing so I guess i'm becoming unraveled with certain things.

So, me and Mr. Phoenix, have decided to do the K-1... I'll be filing soon and though I know that the wedding day is far off in the distance but we are both Virgo's and if anyone is or knows anyone that's a Virgo you know how our minds endlessly run on the smallest, minute detail ahead of time

Does anyone have any tips to putting together a small or big wedding when you have no idea what date it will be. Is it possible to put together a big or small wedding in three months or should we just go to City Hall and have like a reception afterward and how does this play into (if any) to AOS review.

Thank you so much for your help. :help:

Welcome Serenity - Where are you from? Where is your SO from?

I don't have any tips, sorry - Most people here seem to be doing the small ceremony / city hall / backyard, whatever - And planning a bigger vow renewal down the road - I think it's definitely possible to put together a wedding in 3 months if you want it - not easy, but possible - Don't think it plays into AOS at all - a marriage license is a license -

Most of us tend to get caught up in the Yardie thread and forget to look down here - So jump right in - if you don't get an answer the first time, shout it out again -

Hello Sere,

My husband and I planned our wedding in 5 months. It was a nice wedding in Jamaica on the cliffs. Not to big, not too small. Hurricane Dean cut it short, but it could have lasted much longer. Its possible to plan ANYTHING in 3 months. Just ask away. I wanted to be an event planner for years cause I was always planning random events when I lived in NorCAL.

Just get an idea of the amount of people and the TYPE of venue and go from there. Set a budget off the bat and stick to it, cause more than likely you may need xtra funds on the end side. Ask for as much help from friends and family to take charge of certain items. You can oversee them just dont become an "overseer".

Have you filed yet? If not then you have more than enough time to plan a shindig.

Thank Marlita!!

Trust me I have three sister (two my best friend from grade school days) unofficial event planners who are already planning this or that and I will happily let them

No I haven't filed yet, I will file in January get a great start for 2009...

I really want a small wedding at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, however, I would need to give them a date and from reading a lot of post...you dont know that date until after you get (prayerfully) the approval from Kingston.

Anywho... you are right...if there's a will there's a way and thanks again for replying to me.

.....Seren

ok, well you have more than enough time. If you are planning to file in January, I would shoot for a September date. Great weather and 9 months out so you should be good.

 I first came on VJ for other people, researching and such.... so the registration stayed... lurking every now and again. Then in 2006 started looking into it for he and I.

Reading the horror stories, I gave that man heck everytime I would read a story until he started saying no more VJ... you give so much trouble when you read that... I'm me!

He was right... I knew women and men on both sides of the flag and not only from JA and USA that had horror stories and I didnt want to be one of them.

VJ is the best source for visa info and since laws, forms and stories are always changing, i'm back because we are ready to do this!

I've been with him since September 2006 - seems like forever - everyone says that though huh... but corny as it seems... its like i've known him all my life... he's in St. Ann. Right now I am so needing a good plate of snapper, no rice, no peas, just fish lol :content:

You are a long time lurker, Seren! How long have you been with your SO? There are a few on here from Ochi - Mine is from Portland.

What a blessing that would be Marlita, since both our birthday's are in September and as you said still warm especially in Georgia... ahhhh haaaa then how could he forget our anniversary :P or me for that matter :D

I'm guessing you didn't file a K-1? But got married surrounded by the ultimate botanical gardens minus the storm of course... did this help in the planning?

Good luck, Seren.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I thought it was just me. There was a older lady on the elevator with me who said the same thing. They say time moves at the same pace every day... I beg to differ... the weekend went well thanks (also to fast :( ) but its all good. Have a great week and may it go by equally as fast!!

P.S. Did you start your Christmas shopping yet :)

Seren... I tell you this week went by so fast. Everything is good on this end.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Thank you JMG, I appreciate ya. :D

Good luck, Seren.
