Document requirements

Please obtain the original documents or certified copies from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity) for yourself and each family member who will accompany you to the United States. All documents that pertain to your petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the BCIS with your petition.

Note: Do not send any of the documents in this section to the National Visa Center. You must submit them at the time of your immigrant visa interview.

Well I have heard people send all those docs w/ DS 230. So what is correct. Do they need them at the interview or to be mailed w/ DS 230 ?????

It depends on the type of visa. If you're filing for K1 or K3 visas, these documents will need to be presented to the embassy the day of the interview. If you're going for a CR1/IR1 visa, the civil documents have to be submitted for the NVC to review along with the DS-230.

I am petitioning my mom she is in Bulgaria. DS 230 requires Police Certificate. I checked through uscis website and Bulgaria doesn`t issue Police Certificate. Should I just forget about Police certificate or there is something else I am required to do in this case?

Thank you in advance

Are you sure? This is what I found online: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/s...pe/bulgaria.asp

Then what you can do is call the NVC to find out what they would do in this case.

Yes . My mom has this one, but this is the Court Certificate not police certificate. May they consider Court Certificate and Police Certificate the same thing for Bulgaria. What do you think?

Police Records

Unavailable

Court Records

Available. Court records (svidetelstvo za sudimost) are issued by the respective district courts to persons born in Bulgaria. Persons born outside of Bulgaria must file an application to the Ministry of Justice. The application must contain full identifying data and should be accompanied by a birth or baptismal certificate. In the absence of such, a certificate issued by the corresponding Peoples' Council attesting to the petitioner’s date and place of birth will suffice.
